Of course GGG doesn't want to fight the 168 champ when there are huge money fights to be made from up and comers leaving 147 and 154, let alone the lineal champ Miguel Cotto. Y'all are ****ing ******ed if you think he would piss all those potential fights away just to fight Andre Ward who has a very good chance of beating him. I mean even if he wins that is just icing on the cake for Canelo, Cotto, etc to say "uhhhh...uhhh...why should I fight him he is a super middleweight champ. Why doesn't he just go ahead up to 175?!?!?!"

That pretty much ends the discussion. GGG wants to clean out his division and fight Ward when the time is right for him. I wouldn't call that ducking at all, especially since it's not exactly plausible to accuse a guy of ducking a fighter that isn't even in his division.
Golovkin is trying to prove himself, and Ward is trying to land a money fight/get out of court. Considering where they're at in their respective careers, I don't see a problem with the directions that either of them are taking.Comment

WBA Super World middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28 KOs) says he’d be willing to move up to super middleweight (168 pounds) for a pay-per-view
Golovkin: I’d move up to 168 for PPV fight against Chavez Jr
By T.Baker | December 26, 2014
Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28 KOs) says he’d be willing to move up to super middleweight (168 pounds) for a pay-per-view fight against the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. However, Golovkin says it would have to be for a pay-per-view fight against an opponent that is a pay-per-view fighter.
Golovkin says wouldn’t be interested in moving up to 168 to fight Andre Ward, because he doesn’t see him as a PPV type of fighter. In other words, Golovkin only wants to move up to super middleweight against a big name for big money on PPV. He’s not just going to move up in weight to face someone without a large fan base.
When asked by Round by Round Boxing if he’d be willing to move up to the 168 pound division, Golovkin said “Yes, for pay-per-view fight. Chavez Jr, he’s a pay-per-view fighter. Andre Ward, he’s not a pay-per-view fighter. Maybe in the future, yeah,” .Comment

I completely agree with 3G. Ward brings no money what so ever to the table. It would only be a big fight for hard core fight fans. I think 3G is just looking to finally make some big money/PPV fights against cotto or calnelo. He realizes Ward is Very high risk/low reward. But I don't know if he realizes that if he did beat ward, it would most definitely catapult him into stardom. For those call in him a duck, get real. I highly doubt someone who's never even came close to losing would be "scared" of anybody. We all know boxing is a business, and I for one can't blame this dude for wanting a big pay day.Comment
