How do you see Errol Spence progressing in the future?

From the few clips that I've seen of him he seems to pack a punch, good solid fundamentals for a southpaw.
Sometimes he looks a little stiff to me kinda reminds me of victor ortiz which is not bad thing as long as he has the mental toughness that ortiz doesn't have.Last edited by TRTboy; 12-24-2014, 12:15 AM.Comment

I think he's progressing well and could certainly use gradual steps with every fight.
He fought 4-5 times in 2014, if he keeps that pace up he would be ready for big 6 figure fights. For some stylistic matchups in 2015 I would like to see him face guys like:
Yoshihiro Kamegai
Josesito Lopez
Luis Collazo
Victor Ortiz
If I was his promoter I would be trying to get him a nice money fight that is a step-up like being on the Cinco de Mayo card against Sammy "The Who Can Mexican" Vazquez. That would be an electric fight between two rising prospects.Comment

Judging by what I've seen from him so far I can say that I expect him to win a title at 147 in the next 2 years, But I don't see him accomplish the things that Mayweather has accomplished by the time he retires, I see him losing a couple of fights down the line but I can also see him fighting at the elite level for a long time if he keeps his head right. My biggest critic of him is his defense and his footwork, he gets tagged a lot but he also has a great chin, but if he fights a relentless guy with power who likes to come forward like a Maidana or even Porter he's gonna have a hard time keeping someone like that off of him. I think they better step up the competition for him a little bit so that he doesn't get used to the level of opposition he's fighting now, they should get him in there with older expereinces guys with big names that can show him some veteran moves he never saw before and to get him more exposure.
His stature is big enough to move up in weight, he can go up to 154 and even to 160 if he wants to. But if he keeps fighting the way he fights now without patching the holes in his defense and improving his foot work, the bigger guys might be too dangerous for him.Comment
