If Canelo BEAT MAYWEATHER and Mayweather was still trying to fight on that date...I would totally agree with CANELO, BUT that is not the case, he got dominate and now he wants that date HANDED TO HIM BECAUSE HE IS MEXICAN! Sorry But It Don't Work Like That!

I doubt Mayweather is afraid to go Head to Head. All they will do is stack up the card and add Chavez Jr to the Card, WTF do you think Haymon signed him for?:

Mayweather vs Khan
Chavez Jr vs Froch

That Double Header RUINS Cotto vs Canelo especially if you take into consideration the fact that Chavez Jr is a bigger DRAW than Canelo based on his PPV Numbers vs Martinez compared to Canelo vs Lara and Angulo

Mayweather is not going to move off of that date. They all will lose money on that date because of EGO and the fans will lose out having to choose or trying to switch back and forth to Events.

The Plan is after Mayweather is done, those Mexican Dates are going to CHAVEZ JR...NOT CANELO! Chavez was signed FOR A REASON! (JUST ME ASSUMING... )

It doesnt "work like that" either. If the guy wants to fight on his nation's Holiday, i see no problem with it, as i would have no problem with us, as Americans celebreating our nation's Holidays with mega fight.

If you want those dates, put up a great fight that the fans want to see.
And Boxing fans want to see Canelo vs Cotto on May 2nd because it's a great matchup with no predetermined winner backed by a great rivalry, and it forces Mayweather to fight Pacquiao, another fight that could go either way with a great rivalry.

Who's going to watch Mayweather vs Khan?, we all know who wins that one, so why waste anyone's time. The only fight that can even compete in any level on May 2nd is Mayweather vs Pacquiao, we all know it.

And guess what???? IF May vs Pac happens, Canelo vs Cotto moves to a later date you idiots.


It's a win win situation for us fans, we get Canelo Cotto, or Mayweather vs Pacquiao.

I think this is borderline racist, and I hope that all boxers take a stand against Canelo with this notion that only Mexicans can fight on May 5th weekend, on American T.V. no less. I dont care if a fighter who is not Puerto Rican fights on the weekend of the parade. Canelo is not even from Puebla.

I Have said that the best fights should be on May 5th. If it's Mayweather vs Pac so be it. If its Cotto vs Canelo thats cool too. But the rest of you like myself should be bothered by the fact that Canelo is basically telling an entire country that they have no choice but to watch him because he is Mexican. SMDH.

Actually he's not. He has said he doesnt care who Mayweather fights he is not moving. Its De La Hoya that said he would try to convince Canelo to move should the Mayweather/Pac fight happen. I really dont think Canelo gives 2 flying fux what Mayweather does. In the end it will be Cotto refusing to go up against Mayweather/Pac, HBO pressure and De La Hoya forcing Canelo to move.

I actually think Canelo is hurting himself with the way he is acting because as far as I can tell the only people cheering Canelo on are the people who dont like Mayweather, while people like me, who just want to see the best fight on these dates are being put off.
