Does the personal life of a fighter affect...

"peeleft:The Hate For BLACK FIGHTER IS real! !! Floyd is a Fighter that's it he is noSort of. Like if there was a Mexican-American fighter that I supported con el nopal en la frente y todo, and he said some anti-Mexican national s**t then I wouldn't support them anymore.
Like I don't get how a lot of these Pro-Black posters love Mayweather and spout Malcolm X s**t when their idol is a damn coon that says "What has Africa done for me?".
How the f**k do you idolize both Malcolm X and Floyd Mayweather Jr.?
I guess a fighter's personal life doesn't matter to them.
For the most part I don't really care about a fighter's personal life/opinions unless it's something that I feel very, very strongly about.
COON????

Sure, but you would take his career as a whole. If a fighter had made decisions that were cowardly because they had simply got too rich to facilitate the need to fight the most dangerous foes(in the absence of him having the character to desire to actually be the best rather than just saying it) for example, then yes it would knock how I viewed their career.
You can only take a career on the merit of its content, but you have to take into account other factors too when trying to guage the overall value of it.Comment

Yes, I'm aware they have totally different personalities and that's exactly what I am saying. One personality I hate and one I like. I was responding to a question as to what is wrong with the way Floyd thinks of himself and I showed an example of how another top fighter thinks of himself. It doesn't matter if Floyd has done it longer, if Ward were to dominate for the next 10 years I don't ever see him acting the way Floyd does. That's why I like Ward and don't like Floyd. If I'm wrong and that day does come, then I will likely stop rooting for Ward as well. Plain and simple I just don't like that attitude.Last edited by vman075; 12-19-2014, 02:30 PM.Comment

So you are not affected by a fighter's personal life but more so by their attitude in and out of the ring?Yes, I'm aware they have totally different personalities and that's exactly what I am saying. Is it safe to say you are a fan of humble fighters and tend to stay away from those whom brag and are over the top with their antics?Comment
