Dude, he can fight him ANY OTHER DAY! He doesn't NEED may 2nd. It's a bull**** demand to make on promoters who have other business interests that need that date in order to succeed. It's so easy to see.

If this is true, Floyd seriously is backed into a corner. I didn't even read the full article. Missed this piece of important info.

Ok, fair enough. No one had a problem with Floyd fighting in May until this week though.

It's not a demand at all. He said he was fighting in May before anyone else said so. He really has no reason to care about when DLH wants Canelo fighting and vice versa. I really don't see your point. If Floyd is fighting Manny, then Arum has every reason to make the fight in may.Arum doesn't represent Canelo. He should care what Canelo wants

What I can't wait for is for Cotto to beat the crap outta this overhyped ginger. He needs to be bought back to earth.

Being aware and being on board aren't the same thing. Arum is creating a problem to try and make the fight negotiations break down everyone can see it.

Yes, because Golden Boy did a press release stating Canelo had agreed to terms to fight on May 2nd. Then Floyd, who had been as quiet as a church mouse for months all of a sudden started talking up 'cinco de mayweather'.

But it looks like HBO, GBP, Top Rank, and now the head of CBS are good with having the Mexican fighter fight on a Mexican holiday and doing Floyd-Pac on another date... Which makes perfect sense if you take the stan goggles off.

Only roadblock in that scenario is one Floyd 'Money' Mayweather. If he was serious about fighting Pacquiao and not just using his name to try to scare Canelo off May 2nd... then he wouldn't care what date that fight happens. A Black guy fighting a Filipino is not affected in the least by a Mexican Holiday.

                Did you miss the red?

If Floyd's boss is OK with a different date and SHOW/HBO are willing to co-distribute like they did for Tyson-Lewis... there goes Floyd's latest roadblocks.

But Now Arum and Oscar are buddies does that conflict with what Floyd wants. Ofcourse the Elephant in the room is Arum is just saying this to avoid a Floyd fight.
                  HBO.

showtime has locked down mexican holiday since floyc jumped to sho.

canelo-cotto can take back may 2.

only fight that can push out canelo-cotto is pac-floyd which arum/hbo has a say in and can be held any date.

How many times has this been said. . . Floyd stated straight after Maidana fight his next fight is in May, Everyone knows he fights the first Saturday of May. . . And Canelo specifically said he was poaching that date from Mayweather. So realistically your argument of Canelo got there first is kinda flawed. Besides, if the black guy fighting a Filipino in May doesn't effect the Mexican Holiday, why is Arum refusing to accept the fight!!!?

Let me be clear, I hate arum and think he's a cancer. That being said, from a strictly business perspective, arum would be representing cotto in a fight vs canelo and knows the best date, for that fight, is may 2nd. The most money to be made on a cotto fight, vs canelo, is may 2nd. The most money to be made on Floyd vs manny is ANY date.

Objectively speaking, do you not see why odlh and arum wouldn't move canelo vs cotto for PAC vs Floyd? One event could clean up even on New Year's Eve at 11:59, while the other event, cotto canelo, needs may 2nd. It's an easy choice financially.
