Why in the hell, would the biggest fight in boxing not want to maximize their revenue on the most advantageous PPV day of the year? It is numbingly ****tarded. Even if the difference in sales would only be 100 or 200k, at $75 a pop that is still a lot of damn money to miss out on.
added to that, why would all the major Las Vegas businesses directly connected to boxing want to jeopardize one of their two most profitable weekends by not having Floyd fight on that weekend?

I get posters want Floyd off the date (why its so important is strange) but they need to just face reality that unless you have a fight that will definitely generate a higher gate than a Floyd fight its hard to see them getting the date.

Maybe Canelo fights someone else on regular TV from Mexico or Texas on that date instead of PPV.

oh wait.. that's right. floyd said may 2nd. so nothing else matters to you i guess.

if they do fight on 2nd of may and canelo-cotto is scheduled to june, fucking dandy. sign me up.
      june is PR DAY PARADE.

they should hold it in NYC if they fight june.

because 1 super fight + 1 big fight beefed up cause of a mexican holiday will probably make more money 1 super fight beefed up on a mexican holiday + 1 big fight.

Canelo-Cotto gets more benefit from being on a cinco de mayo weekend that floyd pac. floyd pac sells any day of the year.

Because Canelo wants it, and some posters think that's worth noting. As if we should really care what he wants. The fight is there to be made on May 2. What Canelo wants is irrelevant.

Why in the hell would Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather want to make less money? So you're saying Pacquiao-Mayweather sells with zero variance the same amount on any weekend? Even a slight variance in ppv numbers translates to millions of dollars in revenue.

Let me get this straight, you're actually cheering for the promoters to make more money over Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather making more money in the biggest fight of this millennium? Two of the greediest fighters in the sport are expected to give up money and a prime date to guys they whooped on?

Well...we know you think Canelo-Cotto will get the May date over Mayweather-Pacquiao. But...you don't care. There's your opinion. A spineless one but not surprising.

                      he doesn't understand.

to him all that matters is floyd wants may 2nd.

he doesn't even have a reason why it should be may 2nd.

he's just arguing to argue. and not doing it well tbh.
