Canelo Alvarez apparently agreed to the terms that he wanted. However, Cotto hasn't agreed to anything and this fight likely won't get made. If Alaverz is going to fight on May 2, it will be against Joshua Clottey on regular HBO.

Picky BS. You are full of ..... This is no different that what Pacquaio did to Ricky Hatton and Cotto and all other opponents. Do you think Cotto wanted to fight Pacquaio at 145 (or 142, which is what Pacquaio originally demanded) for Cotto's world championship?

Cotto is the A-side and he is demanding that the fight be fought on his terms. That is the way things happen in boxing. Cotto, like Mayweather, Pacquaio and all the other A-side boxers, are going to do things on their terms, and if fans like you don't like it, that is too damn bad.

I'm sorry - Cotto's been fighting at the top level for well over a decade against the who's who of fighters. He's a four weight division champ with just as much pull as Canelo.

Canelo is a pampered red-head who feels entitled to it all just because he's a novelty. Why should Cotto give up anything after all the work and wars he's been through?

Don't get me wrong - Canelo really has grown on me with his fights against Trout and Lara, I respect him for taking those fights and showing a willingness to fight GGG, but still, he's a nobody to be imposing anything on established, HoF fighters who are still fighting at a high level. Just wait your turn, say yes and get in the ring and get your respect the old fashion way.

canelo needs to stop being dumb.

let cotto have the ego stroke on everything.

the important part is that the fight is signed. canelo will regain anything he lost in negotiations once he has the cotto name on his resume.

he has to know this right?

bow down to cotto's every demand. getting the fight on your resume is the prize. you will gain back anything you lost on the cotto negotiations for the rest of your negotiating career once you beat cotto.
