Barring Mayweather-Pacquiao happening, hopefully we get Mayweather-Cotto II. That's a legacy fight for Mayweather, would give him 11 world titles in 6 weight classes and 6 lineal titles in 5 weight classes.

Oscar is now saying that Alvarez will fight either Cotto or another name opponent. Yesterday, the deal to fight Cotto was cemented. It is obvious that Alvarez/Cotto is not a done deal and will likely not take place at all.

It appears that what happened yesterday was GBP created a contract with all the terms that Alvarez wanted for a Cotto fight, had Alvarez sign it and then told the press that negotiations were complete and Cotto had signed the contract. In the meantime, he asked Bob Arum to intervene to convince Cotto to agree to the terms of the contract that Alvarez had signed.

It is obvious that Cotto hasn't agreed to any terms, including the date of the fight.

Sounds like Floyd won't be using GBP now that his banner has got it's promoter's license. What other name opponent would Canelo fight if no Cotto? I don't see anybody else he could fight that would challenge a Mayweather PPV.

It is obvious that the Cotto/Alvarez fight is not happening on May 2. Alvarez will likely fight Clottey on regular HBO on May 2 just to piss in Mayweather's kool-aid.
