    My thoughts exactly.

Maidana fighting Floyd should have only been a fantasy.

Didn't you learn how overrated Algieri is by the way Pacquiao beat him by scores of 120 to 103. Maidana is not quite as good as Pacquiao but he is one hell of a lot better than Algieri. He would either KO Algieri or win a wide points victory with many knock downs. Algieri is brave and tough but he can't break an egg and he can't fight much but he is great at running away.

So, the stance is that, since Algieri keeps getting knocked down, that he can beat Maidana?

I mean, he got up to narrowly beat Provodnikov. And got up to lose miserably to Pacquiao.

He'll fall somewhere in between, to Maidana.

Algieri is going to take some time to get over what Manny did to him.

I think Maidana deserves some credit for the improvements he has made in the last 18 months or so.

Having said that, Floyd picked him twice for a reason.

I am not sold on the talents of Algieri to be honest, he moves well - but with no real purpose behind it. He has no power and no real versatility or tactical options.
