i cant believe u cant see the difference between lee and hagler not admitting he lost to leonard. heres the difference: the fight actually happened, people can watch it and make their minds up based on the evidence.

As historians you have to have an opinion on what you believe to be true. Whether you believe people take joy in losing to actors. As a historian i believe all the things people say Lee did to them and what they saw Lee do, why would they lie about being inferior to an actor?

gene lebell, judo champ (bruce lee friend) talked about how clueless lee was at grappling.

bruce lee fans bring up lebell when they want to talk about how lee STUDIED judo/wrestling but dismiss lebell when he says lee had limited knowledge about grappling.

if you guys want to worship lee that's fine but learn something about the dude.

Bruce Lee never had a fight in his life, Amateur or Professional, so how was he a fighter? He wasn't.

For all we know his chin is made of glass. He hasn't been punched so how can we know? Impossible to do so.

He hasn't proven anything of his capabilities or limits.

I've also seen the footage of him punching the boxing bag and it's absolutely pathetic.

i'll give you guys a little history lesson since you bruce lee fans don't know anything.

ever watch ufc and hear them refer to a KIMURA?

it's an armlock submission. do you know why it's called a kimura?

it's a brazilian jiu-jitsu term with a japanese name.

in 1940's helio gracie using bjj fought a jap judo champ in a mma fight. the judo guy broke his arm with a judo hold.

the brazilians adopted it, added it to bjj and named it after yhe judo guy, KIMURA.

american wrestlers called it CHICKEN WING. judo guys call it something else of course.

that's mixed martial arts. that's crosstraining styles.

not learning wing chun PARTIALLY and making up your own name for it.

I alredy know all of this, Helio beat the number 2 ranked Judo player from Japan after Kimura told him he'd fight if he did it, so Kimura had to fight him. Helio refused to tap and his corner threw in the towel.

Kimura also out weighed Helio by quite a large amount.

Anyway, sure Vale Tudo matches have been going on in Brazil since atleast the 20 s and I'm aware of where Sambo came from.

Mixed matches might have been happening all over the world for quite some time but they've always been completely obscure outside of places like Brazil or Japan etc, it's never been a recognized sport that is MMA which has only been the sport that we've come to know for a very short time. Before the UfC, Pride etc it was NHB or Vale Tudo.

And I'm actually pretty sure that the Gracie's already knew about the Kimura before then, BJJ does come from Judo, it's basically just a more developed version of Judos ground game. They just named it after him to honor him for beating Helio.

Maybe Bruce wasn't that big of an influence on MMA as a sport, but he did promote learning more than one type of fighting and not limiting yourself too one style and one style only. He's been an inspiration to countless martial artists(mixed included) you cant deny that.

not too sure if bjj guys did kimura before. the teaching of judo to the gracies was a century ago. rules change. some say bjj is closer to early judo than current judo.

i'm not too sure about kimura being so much bigger than helio.

like bruce lee stories, gracie stories get twisted.

but for their exagerrations, the gracies were proven fighters.

Well most people who knew bruce ackowledge he was a fighting genius, so he obviously proved a lot. You dont prove things by being on film.

Lots of people ackowledge Lee beat them and what they did, so bruce obviously had more fights than youd like to admit to knowing about.
No one who seriously sparred with Lee can realy recall hitting Lee on the chin so that obviously needs to be taken into consideration. And the consideration is that Pac would land nothing on Lees chin.

All we are trying to assess is what would happen if Bruce and Pac fought in a bar room, nobody is going to go to jail or get hanged or die if we get the decision wrong. If we think Bruce would beat Pac in 30seconds and get it wrong and in reality it would only take Lee 20 seconds to beat him, no one was harmed in us getting our prediction wrong.
If only a quarter of what we read is to be believed, Bruce would beat Pac in any bar room in the world. I doubt Pac would argue that, so why guys like you or left hook tua try to is not hard to understand why. Jealousy.

Lebel said Lee was the best martial of his time. And he also takes posthumous cheapshots at Lee posthumously. Its not a coincidence he didnt say things like Rhonda Rousey would beat Lee when Lee was alive thats for sure, and make fun of Lee. Truth is that if anyone gets hit on the chin, they would be knocked out cold...not just bruce lee, and fact is that it actually wouldnt take much force to do it either.
