    He could do.

If his opposition level stays the same it shouldn't be too difficult.

He clearly stated. He wants unification.

Pretty sure (and he's right in believing) that staying at 160 is the best option because he'll own the division.

Likewise, Hopkins IBF belt that he won in 1995, had only been around for about 10 years and wasn't really recognized as a major title by many.

I think he'll move up. I don't see him fighting at 160 for 8/9 more fights. The big names won't fight him.

You mean, unless someone invents a time machine and puts him in with prime Hagler? Or is there a higher level of comp at Mw he could be fighting instead?

I mean exactly what I said.

Whether the division gets stronger or not if he continues fighting at this level then he shouldn't have much problem breaking the record.

I can definitely see him reach that if he stays at MW. It would be great if he did it.

Didn't even realize he was at 12 defences already.

But that also means he doesn't go ahead with a fight against Ward, because he'll lose if he does.

I don't really see it being that much different to Hopkins in all honesty. Aside from the few big names.

"If he continues fighting at this level" sounds like theres another level he could be fighting at, higher I guess. I suppose its possible someone could break through in the next 2 years, but not much in sight

What he's saying is that the MW division isn't exactly booming with talent, and that's the truth.
