The offer is there for Arum and Manny to accept. So if they reject the 40mill with 35% upside, you're still going to say Mayweather is the one ducking? The duck move was years ago, when someone couldn't agree to a 14 day, drug testing cut-off and was afraid of needles.
and what happened when pac agreed later on to the 14 day cut off??? "I dont do business with bob arum" what a crock of ****
They are? Floyd wouldn't have hit 2 million if not for Alvarez being an undefeated Mexican. Cotto did great number with Manny and Floyd too, but both also did well on their own pay per views based on normal boxing standards. I believe Cotto Martinez and Canelo-Lara/Angulo all did about 300k-500k which is great if your not Floyd or Manny.
I'm not saying they are bigger draws but them fighting each other and the fact Floyd wouldn't have a decent opponent to go up against them with, I really think he would lose in the states. I'm sure a Khan fight would sell well with overseas revenue included, But in the states no way Floyd does even close to as well as he normally does against that other PPV.
In the end both events suffer but I think Floyd would suffer more.
They aren't doing 300-500k they're doing less than 400k.
Decent numbers. But then compare that to Floyd's against non draws, that's the casual audience.
This want to "reclaim" dates by Canelo and Oscar is just dumb. Suppose you secure the date. And Mayweather decides to fight the week before. Guess what? Casuals aren't buying PPV's in successive weeks so Canelo loses. Just dumb.
I really don't want to debate you guys all morning especially since this is all speculation. Sure 250k for Floyd was me being dramatic but the most important factor I see here is Showtime. I don't see them getting a huge cut of British PPV and if they can't max out on Floyd I don't think they take the fight if they can't guarantee to make a certain number against another huge fight.
I'm sure Floyd with his ego would probably be down for a stand off but I just don't see it. And with Khan his best option minus Danny Garcia which is unlikely I just don't think it happens. And I think the buzz around the Hispanic community could make Cotto-Alvarez bigger then Cotto-Margarito.
What was floyd's last ppv numbers? Not projected numbers either, the REAL numbers.
He cant give them as they havent been released yet. What he can do though is give you the TMTworld/floydhype/blacksportsonline figures. They're the real ones apparently.
