However, ignoring his words, it doesn't take a genius to work out that the site fee is significant enough for Top Rank to up sticks to the other side of the world, probably shaving around 400k buys off their US PPV sales.
The numbers don't add up successfully, and it's no a matter of guessing. And some of his statements are misleading -- for example, not having to pay U.S. taxes. It misleads people to think Pacquaio's purse isn't getting taxed, and at least not in a heavy way, but it STILL is being taxed heavy!

The site fee is important, but it's not why Pacquaio is getting such a big purse. Keep in mind, Arum also left out the fact that Pacquaio has a lucrative multi-fight deal arrangement with HBO where a certain amount of money is always guaranteed (like Floyd's deal with Showtime).

Yes it's relevant too the negogiations because money is everything, lets be real, but as far is people saying.

O Pacquiao shouldn't have fought this guy or May shouldn't have fought this guy because he brings nothing to the table, I just wanna see the best fight the best period.

i'm still waiting for the guerrero numbers let alone maidana's. the so-called ppv queen is a fraud.

If Arum mentions that Akbar Muhammed guy again then he definitely isn't serious about negotiations.

          • Good news. They will have to make more meaningful matches.

Arum wouldn't have gone back to Macau after the Rios fight if the hit they take in PPV sales wasn't being balanced by something else.

Opening up the Chinese market comes into it too of course. Amazing that Arum still has those sort of ambitions at his age. His commitment to making money is something else.

                • Team Pac cannot walk away. Fight Pac been begging for and the one Arum has been promising to him is there.

Who cares about PPV numbers other than those involved in the card/networks?

It's a known fact that Mayweather fights are heavily promoted. They also spend enormous sums of money on undercards. Which is actually good and bad for the fans. Good for PPV buyers, but bad for subscribers because they don't really translate into producing more subscription-based fights - result of spending big on TBE fights, there's nothing left to fund regular fights.

But we noticed that they tried to spend little in promoting the Maidana 2, not to mention the crappy undercards. It's actually a Catch 22 for them. They spend little on promotion, they attract less customers. They spend big, they get more buyers, but the profit is not something to brag about.
schaefer and hoya are amateurs compared to arum.
