I think you have to take into account where a fighter is in his career when evaluating how his wins compare to other fighters that year. People comparing Crawford to someone like GGG are off-base because Golovkin is an established (if unproven) talent who has ramped up his competition in small increments, while Crawford is an unestablished fighter who took great steps toward proving himself and taking big steps up in competition.

Absolutely, he had a big year too. He ended the year looking like a monster.

What is your vote, fighter of the year? If not him, who?
How can he be when Manny has the best win of the year against Bradley? A guy better ranked and better respected than Beltran and Gamboa?

Kovalev had a win over Hopkins for 3 of the 4 available "world" belts at 175?

          Edit:
Have to add in Walters spectacular win over a future HOFer

He wasn't better ranked though and he'd already beaten him once. Convincingly.

Bradley was a good win, taking nothing away from that, but Crawford came from being a talent to being the champion. I think he accomplished more this year than Manny did.

Walters yes, but I think he fought Donaire at a weight that was very advantageous to him and not Donaire who will step down again.

I think it's either Crawford or Walters.
