DAVID PRICE is eyeing a clash with either Tyson Fury or Dereck Chisora next year after conquering his mental demons.

The former British heavyweight champion from Liverpool says he has got his confidence back after twice being stopped by American veteran Tony Thompson in front of his home fans last year.

Those losses – the only two of his pro career so far – wrecked Price’s momentum and he has had to rebuild away from the spotlight.

Why is it "not realistic" to fight AJ in 2015...? He will probably be just as highly regarded and established in the division as either of these guys. Probably scared he would get sparked out since Fury and Delboy don't hit as hard as AJ and definitely don't have the speed or combination punching.

Either that or the promotional divide, Price probably knows he's a more marketable name in the non-Sky end of the market since Boxnation have so few fighters compared to Hearn. I also think he has far more of a chance against Chisora than Joshua, but it's promotional mechanics at play here.

Sauerland have an excellent working relationship with Matchroom much more so than Matchroom do with Warren.Price is talking nonsense,he clearly wants no part of AJ.their are no obstacles to a fight between the two if he so desired it,only imaginary ones he seeks to create to hide behind.

          What?

I thought that was the aim, to make Joshua-Price in 2015.

At the rate Joshua is being hyped, probably early 2015 he will be doing PPV to watch his sparring.

              Chisora vs Price

If Dereck loses that, he's officially done

if the pay is right then I don't see why del-boy wouldn't take the fight. it's a step backwards in my opinion but it could lead to another bigger fight. that if del-boy continues on after his lackluster performance against fury.

Chisora flattens Price,I really don't see Sauerland making that fight.Chisora needs a little rebuilding a nice easy KO and then a few rounds against a durable domestic level guy like Sprott,Towers or Sexton say.

For me their is life in Chisora yet,he could beat Browne,Price and would certainly prove a testing fight for Antony Joshua at this stage.Chisora is far from finished IMO.his face was a true mess last night and it will no doubt have impacted on his self belief,a mini rebuilding is in order,it isn't as though he had a mental collapse within the ring like Price had though.

The thing with Chisora was generally in his career he stepped up better performances v the better fighters. He actually performed worse and was much more lacklustre and lackadaisical v "easy" opponents, especially coming off the back of big defeats - have a look at the Hector Avila fight (someone who AJ ko'd in one round in like his 5th fight) where he carried him for like 10 rounds as a comeback fight.

And if Chisora has lost the motivation for even the big fights, I highly doubt he is going to want to be dabbling in the domestic scene...not much to gain, not much motivation after all those title shots. He is one of those guys who had his chances at world level and just didn't have enough.

Chisora had a buildup period before this rematch with some half decent but generally very easy opponents...he doesn't need that again...

He can fight AJ, if he wants to test himself v a british rival who hasn't quite reached his peak yet, and if he loses he will know to himself he is done, and we will know more about AJ. It is a win win for all parties. And if Chisora loses, he can take his cash and ride off into the sunset, and AJ can push on.
