I'll tell you what they didn't say..
"Where ducking Sanders"
OR
"I don't want a rematch with Sanders".
Circumstances I gave above are all simply events as were.
You can draw the conclusion that there were duckings if you like, you wouldn't be alone.
I usually don't claim anybody ducked anybody, unless there it's beyond reasonable doubt.
Bowe ducking Lewis
Foreman ducking Lewis
Lewis ducking Vitali
Floyd ducking Pac
etc

Bulox! Sanders stepped to Vlad thats why he beat him, he would have done more to Vitali if he had been in shape. Sanders is a compitant, well skilled fighter who is relatively aggressive, hence Vlad fell and would always fall because when has Vlad fought a guy who has some semblence of the ability to apply real pressure?
Corrie was not a pressure fighter, but...he had enough forebearance to step in and through the glass chinned slav. That was enough to show what would happen if an elite level pressure fighter like Holly had ever gotten his gloves on the glass chin slav.
Now....if Sanders was not in shape and unmotivated, then he is not the same threat level. Vlad could clinch up on an out of shape Sanders, like the one who showed up for Vitalie. Though Vitalie is a lot better fighter all around....and even he was buckled.
Anyhew sorry vadtards...Any version of Vlad gets KTFO by an in shape mediocre to good pressure, puncher like Sanders.
I happen to rate Sanders highly, but...given how most would view him its kind of sad that a supposed ATG could not get the gumption to make sure a rematch was fourthcoming....you know like Lewis did.

Nothing but speculation. Just because a fighter goes a streak doesn't mean they are suddenly immune to losing.
Wladimir had a rematch clause he never exercised, he chose to rebuild instead. And you can use the Vitali beat him line but there was plenty of time prior to that where Wladimir could of tried to avenge that defeat.
He had his number, Wladimir knew it and wanted no part of him again and who can honestly blame him? He got destroyed in that fight and the same result would of happened if he had of exercised that rematch clause.

More than likely, this version of Wlad has mastered the art of clinching, he was white belt then, he's a 10th degree black belt clincher now.
