Canelo a full JMW that need to have a catch weight, Maidana a proven JWW that collected a win in WW from a comedy king Broner who almost defeated by a feather fisted Malignaggi in his very 1st fight in WW.

Luis Carlos Abregu (WBO #4, WBC #2, IBF #8)
-Kevin Bizier (IBF #6, draw in Montreal)
-Frankie Gavin (IBF #9, interest in UK)
Four welterweight choices, who all bring as much, if not more, to the table as Algieri does.
To even keep the charade going, Top Rank could've sold the Abregu fight as one that would put them into the mandatory position for Floyd Mayweather, "forcing the fight" that they talk about wanting so badly.

A true champion in every way ...I'll bet Floyd would love to be half the man.Little at the weight but hey , he still proves most wrong ...cost me a few quid in his time......you can't like or know boxing if you have a problem here.

The ducking Margarito argument is old because Arum was the one who didn't want to give Floyd Oscar in return for fighting Margarito/Cotto and that's how that fell apart. Are you an idiot because anyone who claims they know boxing or the sport would know all of this. Pacquiao's whole team called Mosley shot, old and not worth the time but they fought him anyway and want accolades for the win.
