OK basic boxing logic question here....

Imagine a 4 round fight between Fighter A and fighter B

    Round 1
Fighter A landed 10 punches and Fighter B landed 2 ( No KD)

    Round 2
Fighter A landed 10 punches and Fighter B landed 2 (No KD)

    Round 3
Fighter A landed 10 punches and Fighter B landed 2 (No KD)

    Round 4
Fighter A landed 1 punches and Fighter B landed 50 (No KO , No KD)

    Over all punches Landed

    Fighter A = 31 punches
    Fighter B = 56 punches

    Who Won the fight??

Round 1 scorecard for this fight always makes me laugh. Clottey's work in the 1st isn't enough to overcome knockdown. He loses the round 10-8 and he needs to win 7 rounds to overcome that and there's no way in hell he did.

I just went through the first couple pages of this thread and really no one is going to mention the 10 point MUST scoring system... on a BOXING forum? Really?

9-9 is only possible if a point is deducted by the referee.

Cotto won the first round de facto because of the KD. If you feel Clottey was dominating the round despite the KD, then the proper score would be 10-9.

I just watched the fight without sound and the huge difference was that first round. When I watched it for the first time I scored round 1 10-8 for Cotto because of the KD, but when I watched it on silence, There was a total difference. Clottey was dominating the first round and he did get knocked down. I scored it 9-9 when watching it on silent. Round 7 on silent I scored 10-8 for Clottey because Cotto did as much in that round as Donaire did against Rigondeaux in round 12. Watching fights on silent makes it so the crowd does not influence the scorecard. My new score is 114-112 Clottey.

                RD 1: 9-9
                RD 2: 10-9 Clottey
                RD 3: 10-9 Clottey

                RD 11: 10-9 Cotto
                RD 12: 10-9 Cotto

There was no way that Cotto won that fight. That was a gift decision Cotto got.
I agree. Oh and that watching it with sound off...lol NO!
