I just rewatched Clottey vs Cotto and rescored it.

When I first saw the fight, It was clear as daylight that Clottey had won and the correct score was 114-113 Clottey, No other score. However that was with sound. I just watched the fight without sound and the huge difference was that first round. When I watched it for the first time I scored round 1 10-8 for Cotto because of the KD, but when I watched it on silence, There was a total difference. Clottey was dominating the first round and he did get knocked down. I scored it 9-9 when watching it on silent. Round 7 on silent I scored 10-8 for Clottey because Cotto did as much in that round as Donaire did against Rigondeaux in round 12. Watching fights on silent makes it so the crowd does not influence the scorecard. My new score is 114-112 Clottey.

    My Full Scorecard

    RD 1: 9-9
    RD 2: 10-9 Clottey
    RD 3: 10-9 Clottey
    RD 4: 10-9 Cotto
    RD 5: 10-9 Clottey
    RD 6: 10-9 Cotto
    RD 7: 10-8 Clottey
    RD 8: 10-9 Clottey
    RD 9: 10-9 Cotto
    RD 10: 10-9 Clottey
    RD 11: 10-9 Cotto
    RD 12: 10-9 Cotto

There was no way that Cotto won that fight. That was a gift decision Cotto got.

Are you kidding me. I paid attention to the entire round 1. He got knocked down close to the end of round 1. Cotto hadn't done anything until he knocked him down. Watch round 7 on silent, tell me you can't make a case for round 7 being a 10-8 round.

Clottey always been very underrated. Wish he didn't waste the last 4 years of his career. Hope he gets a good fight up next after Canelo ducked him

Canelo already lost to 2 Cotto Conquerers, one of them he got a Gift against(Trout), The other he lost legitimately to Mayweather. I don't think Canelo wants to face Cotto Conquerers, He wouldn't do well against them. However I would pick Canelo against Cotto but I think Cotto is scared of him. After what happened to Matthew Macklin today, Cotto will probably choose to fight him.

              Clottey won that fight

Pac's win over Clottey is one of the most underrated W's of his career

Before that fight was made, ppl were saying Clottey was the kind of legit welterweight that Pacquiao would never fight

I believe the only way Round 1 would have been 9-9 is if someone was penalized for a foul.

If you want to score the round for Clottey and not penalize him too harshly for the knockdown, then the round should have been scored 10-9 instead of the automatic 10-8. 10-10 could be done too I guess.

10-10=As if nothing happened at all

10-8= The round was won because of a knockdown and the fighter did enough in the round to possibly win it.

9-9= The round was dominated by a particular fighter and the round that the fighter was dominating in was the round he got knocked down in

It doesn't matter who won between Cotto and Clottey because at the end of the day, Floyd Mayweather is his own boss.
