Am I the only one on here that thinks Kovalev's boxing ability is underrated on NSB and GGG's is overrated. I still remember the people that picked Hopkins to school Kovalev... lol! I don't see Pascal doing shit... he might land a few punches but he will get dominated and possibly T/KO'd.

I don't know what's up with the WBC. They've been adamant in the press that titleholders make the fights we want. That's good to see.

They're jumping on the popular bandwagons. That's why they're allowing Golovkin and Kovalev to become mandatories despite being titleholders, but not doing the same with someone like Rigondeaux, who faces the same problem.

I hope Stevenson proves me wrong, but PBC probably killed the Kovalev fight unless Haymon really wants him to keep that WBC belt. Kovalev is 100% HBO.

Nothing to do with Haymon at all. The WBC made a lot of decisions like that at their last conference in Vegas in Dec 2014. They have been in discussions with the other sanctioning bodies in the goal of reducing the number of title holders and with the intention of having unification fights. The only fighter who was declared to be outside all of these regulations was Floyd Mayweather as he will be retiring soon and in deference to all the attention he brings to the sport. All other champions will be subject to random drug testing and mandatory defenses. These changes were brought in at the insistence of the new president of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaiman.

It is very easy to keep up on news from the WBC, just subscribe to their newsletter and visit their website now and then. I find it amazing how many people like to sit back and attack and criticize the various sanctioning bodies but never take the time to really find out what is going on directly from their sites. Instead they choose to believe the rumours and speculation started by people who post on message boards who are basically repeating something another poster somewhere wrote that has no basis in fact.
