Premature stoppage. Mad respect for pascal
Sergey Kovalev vs. Jean Pascal

That left at the end of the 7th was the beginning of the end. Kovalev got caught with some of those hard Pascal rights. That really added to the drama, wondering if one of them might take Kovalev out. Great fight!Comment

It was a good stoppage when you see the replay close up. Pascal was in no position to defend himself, his arms were just dangling and he was hurt. No point in allowing him to be seriously hurt.
Kovalev is by far the best in the division. It's like GGG at middleweight, there's a good crop of fighters below them but too far below them to really trouble them. The only difference for Kovalev is that Stevenson is the only question mark in the division. If he wins his fight against Bika, there is nobody else for these guys to fight but each other.Comment

Completely agree...Pascal had no idea what was going on and was on the verge of getting put into a coma; not joking at all either.Comment

Pascal is a bit like a LHW version of Stiverne - tough Haitian SOB with a great chin and heart, pretty good power, and poor work rate.Comment

Anybody that thinks the stoppage was early has little clue about boxing, and are seemingly blind to the monster shot Kovalev was landing and Pascal falling into the rope and not being able to defend himselfComment
