Just to remind everyone, your boy "King_" listed Martin bloody Murray alongside Floyd Mayweather and Guillermo Rigondeaux as the most complete fighters in the sport.
Just goes to show he's faced a variety of styles and been highly successful.
I admitted he had a couple nice wins. I'm not trying to take anything away from his career and what he accomplished.... I just think he's an overrated fighter. In my personal opinion

He has been beating the divisions best fighters for 10 years though.
To each his own. I don't know why you guys are getting upset.... you're all admitting what I'm saying- Carl Froch doesn't have many skills. He's a tough guy who fought everyone the division has to offer. But it was a criminally overrated division and maybe 3 of his wins were against actual good fighters
Just about every fighter he fought in the last 8-10 years except Mack was a good fighter at the time or considered a big threat. He beat a few and they fell off, it happens.
Abraham was meant to kill him, Bute was going to K.O him he was the underdog for these. Groves was given a great shot and in the rematch. Most experts was saying they was too fast, too skilled etc and he proved them wrong now you're looking back and dismissing his wins against world class fighters at the time for most part that was supposed to beat easily.
Also are you only saying Pascal is good because Kovalev might be fighting him next?
If Carl Froch has a weak resume then just about every fighter in the sport does.
Which fighters have the most complete/widest skillsets?
There is a handful of boxers who do many, many things well and can incorporate defense with aggression.
(not gonna list prospects or guys who aren't already in the top 10 of their divisions)
My list of the most complete fighters in the sport:
Gennady Golovkin
Sergey Kovalev
Terrance Crawford
Roman Gonzalez
Manny Pacquiao
Vasyl Lomachenko
Takashi Uchyama
Kell Brook
Keith Thurman
Floyd Mayweather Martin Murray
Rigo
Bernard Hopkins
Groves, Dirrell, Ward, Bute = All plodders with no skill.
Stop nitpicking, you can do this with any fighter in histories resume.
He medalled at the worlds, has won 3 world titles with wins over Groves x2, Johnson, Dirrell, Bute, Abraham, Kessler, Taylor, Pascal.
Unskilled fighters don't achieve that or have resumes anywhere near that.
Hes fought everyone in his era and won avenging a defeat the only fighter he hasn't avenged a loss to is Ward.
Hes not the most skilled fighter ever or the best coordinated but the man can fight and hes better technically than he gets credit for. Just because he isn't textbook doesn't mean he can't box.
He lost to Ward and I didn;t mention him. Bute is not a slow plodder but he has a glass chin and Froch went after him like a caveman..
You know what's funny? You mentioning Groves and Dirrell.
What have they accomplished in the sport and who have they fought when they fought Froch? I ask because aren't you one of those people who say that the "eye test" is irrelevant and BS until you fight somebody? That amateur wins and looking good in the amateurs doesn't matter until you beat a good fighter in the pros.
The "eye test" is all you would have to go by to give him credit for beating Groves or Dirrell because they haven't fought anybody or accomplished anybody at the times Froch fought them.
Now I am OKAY wit eye-testing and I'm an eye-tester. But Dirk mentioning those two wins is very hypocritical on his part.
