Who will be remembered as the greater fighter: Bernard Hopkins or Floyd Mayweather?

I think Bernard Hopkins had a greater career than Floyd Mayweather.

He fought the best, while Floyd avoided many of the better boxers in and around his division.

Floyd avoided Williams, Margarito, prime Mosley, Morales, prime De La Hoya, Casamayor, Tszyu, Forrest and of course Pacquiao.

I remember Hopkins once offered to fight a heavyweight Oleg Maskaev when Oleg had the WBC title.

I agree Floyd avoided too many guys. Bernard at 49 fought the most dangerous guy at 175 that is something Floyd would never even think about.

If you look at the poll you can see that at least 70% of the posters that chose bhop are the same guys that have bashed floyd everyday for years...and most of them have bashed bhop for his style of fighting throughout the years as well, but when it comes to floyd hes a sure fire better ATG then floyd.??. i bet if it was between pac and hopkins the poll would look the way it does now (one-sided)in favor of pacquaio....this poll is not credible at all.

Boxing fans arent blind. Its obvious who is taking the risks and fighting the top guys to try and prove himself over and over again win or lose, and how the other guy picks and chooses opponents who fit his style while avoiding certain fighters.

It's funny that any fight that didn't happen involving Floyd is always perceived to be Floyds fault what about the other fighter? It takes two fighters to make a fight. Did Hopkins duck Toney, Benn, Eubank, Watson, Mcllenan,? or did the fights not just happen?

Most of them started watching in 08/09 and are entirely unaware of the hate and criticism Hopkins received in the late 90s/early 2000s.

You say bhop is more respected then floyd??? But how is that with all the shenenigans bhop has done like faking injuries, fighting horribly boring fights, saying controversial things like "i will never lose to a whiteboy" ect..ect... i know a shiat load of fans who hate bhop simply because of what ive stated...... at least with floyd he gets mentioned for being the best of this era by those same fans, but the only negative thing that always comes up about him is that he hasnt fought pacquaio yet.....thats literraly what i here, NO BS MAN..so no its not as plain as day as you suggest, its just merely your opinion...

Floyd....bhop is great though. Bhop himself admitted that Floyd was greater than him.
