And Golovkin's whole amateur career was fought at 165lb? I get your point, but if it's not about height, then what really else is there? It's not like he's going to put on 15lb of fat, he'd bulk out and look like Adonis does most likely. Hopkins is a bad example, he fought his 1st fight at 175, lost and then fought as a middleweight afterwards for ages, before moving back up to LHW.

I don't think Golovkin preys on smaller fighters, and I don't think that's what makes him look good. Fighters back up because of his power and boxing ability, I fail to see how that would change if his power carries up to 175lb, which I've said many times.

Martin Murray is the same height and reach as Kovalev, so we'll see how he does with a bigger man soon enough.

It's completely irrelevant because I have no idea what that has to do with anything I've said. I'm not bashing Hopkins, kid. Stop crying.
Dude who cares who Adonis beat? He ducked Kovalev because he obviously felt he couldn't beat him so Kovalev **unofficially** has a win over Adonis.

Of course Hopkins has a better resume.... he's a certified ATG and legend of our sport. Kovalev will get there one day. He's building his legacy right now.

But the eye test comes in to play here (IMO)

Martin Murray is also pretty average and has very little power. We're talking about world class Light Heavweights who are monstrous punchers.

Oh good god. You've really gone full ****** this week haven't you?

The point is that you said that Hopkins and Stevenson haven't faced anyone like GGG but then failed to point out that neither has Kovalev since his resume is much worse than either of theirs.

Now it's the eye test? Hopkins is a far more rounded and skilled fighter than Kovalev according to the "eye test" and according to the fact that he's proven it against better fighters. Stevenson and Kovalev are similar level....they each have their advantages over each other. Yet you're acting like Kovalev is some mythical god based on absolutely *** all.

You really need to stop riding Kovalev's **** so hard because you may be in for a rude awakening come Saturday night.

How is Stevenson's resume much better than Kovalev's? The only reason it's better at all is because people didn't know how shot to **** Dawson was. Other than that win, Kovalev's career has been better.

Maybe "much better" is a stretch. I'd say it's definitely better though. Kovalev's best win is Nathan Cleverly. Campillo was in worse shape than Dawson was when he fought Kovalev. I don't think Dawson was shot, he just got KTFO.

Ain't gonna happen anyway but how ya gonna guarantee a thing like that?

I'll bet you all your points @5 : 1 that if BHops offers to come to 160 to fight, GGG will accept.

Dawson did just get KTFO out and it could have happened whether he was shot or not - however my good friend Tommy Karpency informs me that Sad Chad is probably shot.

It does come down to what you think of Dawson at that point. Coming off draining himself and getting beat down badly by Ward, plus his performances since, I think Dawson was pretty much done when Stevenson caught him. I don't think much of the win.

Other than that, Kovalev's opponents are overall better IMO. Campillo beat Cloud. Cleverly beat Bellew. Sillakh, Agnew, and Caparello probably aren't as good as Fonfara.

It's at least an argument either way, again depending on what you think of the Dawson fight.
