If Maidana can still get Floyd (2x) then anything can happen.
maidana fought kotelnik before khan, makes no sense to call him left over. and i rather go life and death with a legend in a fight of the year candidate than with julio diaz, devon beat him fair and square and khan ran for his life 4 years ago. maidana went back to the start after devon, khan gets KO'd and keep telling everyone how good he is and how he will beat floyd and manny.

According to my scientific charts here Maidana suffered an embarrassing loss then had three average wins, beat Broner and got the Floyd fight:

Maidana's fights leading up to Floyd:

      L Devon Alexander (embarrassed)
      W Soto-Karass (meh)
      W Angel Martinez (meh)
      W Josesito Lopez (meh)
      W Adrien Broner

Which means all Khan needs is a Broner fight:

      L Danny Garcia (embarrassed)
      W Carlos Molina (meh)
      W Julio Diaz (meh)
      W Luis Collazo (meh)
W Adrien Broner? Devon Alexander is close enough. Same personality, better resume.

There is absolutely no logical way you can pretend Maidana is leagues above Khan, who he lost to, therefore no logical way to pretend Khan isn't "worthy" of the not-so-coveted position as Floyd's next opponent.

The rankings reflect nothing more than the fact that Khan just moved to 147 while Maidana has been there for a few years.
Best post in the thread, all kinds of sense being made here.

Ortiz, Guerrero and Maidana were "worthy" of the Floyd shot but Khan isn't? Are you guys really saying that?

If Khan beats Devon (who is better than anyone any of those three have ever beaten), he will be more than deserving.

Khan is not over-rated. He does have talent but he is more popular than actually being a world beater. His hardcore fans are the ones that grossly over-rate him.

Khan has good tools but doesn't know how to put it all mentally togeter

Uhh that legend was shot to **** fighting with one eye for 11 rounds. That's like Khan struggling with Barrera.

Oh please get over it, Khan dropped and beat Maidana when everyone was certain he will get knocked out in to retirement, but you people try to downplay it with excuses "oh he ran for his life, oh he will lose the rematch doe".

"Maidana went to start over with Devon", so what do you think Khan is doing in December?

At the same time you scream for a Danny Garcia rematch after Khan was gang ****d in 4.

Khan fans have gotten over Danny knocking Khan out like the salty bunch that are Chino fans, which is my main point. The butt hurt for some echoes 4 years on.

I've never screamed for a D.G. rematch, but I do maintain Khan should avenge that loss and I also have said Team Garcia has the right to deny as they have because they did after all not only beat but KOed Khan.

Collazo was a better opponent than Karass and Lopez, so it did start sooner than you think, but Diaz sure was a useless fight.
