Some of you on here post about the "Floyd shot" like Floyd's been mowing through a row of ATGs who are lightyears above Khan... Marcos Maidana x2? Guerrero? Ortiz?

Anyone in rated at 140-154 and coming off a notable victory has a chance of getting the call.
He beat Maidana about 4 years ago when Maidana was about half as good as he is now and Khan was about twice as good as he is now. Since then Khan has been defeated by Peterson and KOed by Garcia and looked bad in the few fights he has had since then with the exception of his win over mediocre Collazo. Getting big fights is based on what a fighter has done in the last year or two not what he did 4 or 5 years ago. Khan's promoter, Oscar owns ring magazine and they rate Maidana at 5 and Khan well below him as the ninth best welterweight in the world as well they should. Khan's fight with Alexander is the first top 10 welterweight Khan has fought in well over two years. If Khan can beat Alexander and look good doing it he will very likely get the Mayweather fight next. I think it's mainly UK fans who over rate Khan. US fans tend to go with what the see right now, not 4 years ago.

He's hated because he doesn't seem like he's hungry. He's been on the verge of landing the Mayweather fight for the past two years. And for some reason he won't step up and get a defining victory to put him at the top of the list. It seems like he would just rather try and talk his way into a Mayweather shot. Hopefully he can get passed Devon because I do want to see Khan vs Mayweather.

I don't think he's a bad fighter by any stretch, and he may prove to be a good welter in the coming years, but as of now he is the most recent example of propaganda. The guy has done nothing impressive since getting stopped by Garcia and is now a legit opponent for Floyd. You gotta give it to Golden Boy, Showtime and Haymon cause they have made fans believe without actually showing them anything.

That being said, when you compare him to Maidana and the likes of Guerrero, I'd rather Khan get a shot at Floyd and I've said this since those fights were pondered.

It's easy to nitpick opponents. Khan beats Alexander and gets Floyd, but the same wasn't even thought of for Porter when he beat Devon coming off a 4 fight win streak. It's far too easy to discredit the "opponents" because nobody at welter is really doing anything impressive right now. Besides Brook over Porter and Pac over Bradley, there haven't been any good wins at welter this year.

Maidana is 31 years old. His talent doubled between ages 31 and 27 just in time to fight Floyd? Awesome.

There is absolutely no logical way you can pretend Maidana is leagues above Khan, who he lost to, therefore no logical way to pretend Khan isn't "worthy" of the not-so-coveted position as Floyd's next opponent.

The rankings reflect nothing more than the fact that Khan just moved to 147 while Maidana has been there for a few years.

Maidana fans would never get over the fact that he lost to that same khan.

I can't think of another fighter who has looked bad repeatedly and is still relevant. It might just be Khan now that I think about it.

Dude, some ppl say Floyd is "TBE" nobody is more overrated than Floyd. And that doesn't mean that I don't think he's a great fighter. I just find it hilarious ppl argue that he's the best of all time.

They can't even **** on his chin too much either cuz he took Maidanas best shot and didn't go down. He was on ***** Street and running around the ring trying to survive after getting clocked but he ain't go down. To make it worst, Khan sat Maidana down. Lol

Maidana doesn't have devastating one-punch power. If he did Floyd would have 2 KO losses and he would have stopped Khan because he landed bombs on both.

It's not that Khan is that great, it's that the people saying he's unworthy of the Floyd fight seem to forget he's beating the same quality opponents Floyd is...
