  • Marquez has a hell of legacy but he hasn't been doing himself any favors since the 4th pac fight.

Memo, opting out of drug testing, not rematching Manny for top dollar, ducking prov

The way he talks about it is like he's sure he would lose a fifth. A lot more honor in doing drug testing and beating Manny again for that 5th title that he'll fight anybody else for than whatever else he's been doing since. Not to mention 3 or 4 times the money.

    • According to JMM, he was "robbed 6 times" in his career.

      • A part of me wants JMM to face Brook... so the world can see again how he'll lose to any legit titlist or contender 140lb and above.

JMM hasn't done anything above 140. Besides PAC, his best win is Alvarado whose confidence was shaky after being crushed by Provo. Fedchenko? Likar Ramos? haha funny.

Going after a 5th weight division title? nah. He doesn't have a legit claim at 140. Beating an at best 4th ranked Fedchenko does not count for crap.
In reality, he's going for a 4th division title. Still, it would be a nice accomplishment. But he can't do it. His style is not versatile or exploitive enough to beat all kinds of fighters at 140 and above.

Lightweight and below, he was excellent.

        • That's right JMM. Make him earn it and wait almost 4 years the way he did you between fights 1 & 2. And 3 years between 2 & 3. While you fought Barrera, Floyd, Casamayor, John, Juan Díaz etc etc in between, he's out here fighting Rios and now cheating Algieri on the scales.

Now potential fights with little guys like Mikey and Terrence Crawford loom. Don't give him a rematch, JMM.. Make him earn it

pac wanted an immediate rematch after the first fight but marquez priced himself out and went to go fight chris john for peanuts.

if marquez is all about honor then why not fight pac and win that "5th weight world title" he is after?

JMM fought salido right after, not John.

No thanks is needed for the correction.

              • manny fans are the most misinformed and delusional fans in sports. The nerve that they cite steroids as the X factor. memo was in his camp for the third fight when JMM out boxed manny... What happened there?

Also, ask Roach about Justin Fortune, and Alex Ariza and then talk to me. Manny fans do a disservice to their hero. He deserves better

Bad math being done by a judge doesn't take away that the fight was close. The judge that got the wrong scorecard just failed his script.

                  • I hope Marquez does fight Pacquaio a fifth time so Marquez can knock him out again and send both of them into retirement.

Pacquaio knocked Marquez down three times in the first round of the first fight and couldn't finish him. The fact that there was even a disputed draw tells us just how badly Marquez outboxed Pacquaio for the next 11 rounds.
