I don't think you can use the Cunningham fight as an example. Peter Fury wasn't in his corner and i think he just looked how small USS was and decided to wade in for a brawl.
Fury has underrated skills, i'm not claiming that he'd beat Povetkin but it wouldn't be a full blown conclusion given Sasha's issues with big guys.

povetkin has been in outstanding shape the last few fights. there were many naysayers here before the wlad fight. he has stepped his game up since that loss & wants a rematch. wins over takam & charr are very impressive. both those guys were fringe contenders & he took them both out. he is a step above those guys & has to be considered one of the best. I was very impressed with the takam win. a fight with fury would be interesting.

Povetkin needs to sit down on his punches to generate real power, and he's already 7 inches shorter than Fury standing up, with a much shorter reach.
If Fury boxed sensibly, which he is capable of doing, he would beat Povetkin on points pretty easily, imo.
He would need to keep his head though, or Povetkin would take it off.
