Comments Thread For: Canelo's Manager Says Everything on Pace For May

Edison Reynoso, manager and trainer of Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs), says the boxer's recovery is going very well for his planned return in May of 2015. He was set to fight against Joshua Clottey on December 6th in Texas, but withdrew with an ankle injury.

The rehabilitation process is being handled by a specialist in San Diego. Canelo's team is targeting a very high profile fight against WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto. Canelo's trainer hopes the rehab process is done by mid-December for them to start training in January.

Prepare the "ankle" excuses for May when Cotto stomps Canelo... smh.

Cotto will destroy this kid, I'm telling you. It will be ugly because Canelo has too much pride for his own good.

          Haha, ^^^this.

I better not see any ankle excuses coming from you Canelo fans after King Cotto takes care of business Cinco de Mayo weekend.

Good. Canelo will probably be the betting fav. As he should be.

Cotto has an outside shot. Miguel would have to fight a perfect fight or catch Canelo.

That's exactly why he opted out of the Clottey fight to make sure his ankle gets treatment and is 100%.
