The weak Vlad chin is a bit of a myth. Sanders was a tremendous puncher and most other would have been KOed cold by the punishment he dished out vs Vlad. Vladimir has never been knocked out cold, like Lennox was vs Rahman for instance. Most champions are stopped at some point in their career, I don't see why Vlad should be particularly bad in this case.

And if you are talking clinches, we have the anniversary of Rumble in the Jungle now, look how much Ali tied up Foreman. That made for an ugly fight too.

I can't think of a fight where ze Klitschkos used illegal tactics to get themselves out of trouble and win a fight they should've lost. Wlad might be a little dirty but so is BHop and he's a master of his craft

Then you honestly have very selected memory. It's not about whether he's warned for holding - we shouldn't give Wlad credit for incompetent refereeing. For example, he clinched 150 times vs Povetkin incl leaning, holding, pushing etc but wasn't even deducted a point - probably not even warned if I remember correctly. Ironically, the point he was deducted in the Haye fight wasn't necessary in my opinion.

I'm definitely not saying he isn't the real deal - I don't recall ever saying that. He's obviously a very talented and powerful fighter.

There's no proof whatsoever that he'd be a great crossover star in America if he was american, that's a myth. American fighters who are all very talented like Hopkins, Ward and even Mayweather when he was younger, were never the stars their talents deserved because they simply didn't have a fan friendly style.

Vitali had a much better chance of becoming a star in the US than Wlad, also especially after his fight with Lennox. Americans think of Wlad as the big boring guy who got smashed by a couple of average fighters on HBO. As unfortunate as that might be.

Vladdy KO carried Povetkin for 12 rounds. He could have Ko'd him at any time. He drilled Povetkin in that fight. They are close friends and Vladdy implemented a HW strategy. Let's not take strategy out of boxing and just toe the line and throw punches either. Having movie star looks, a Hollyweird hottie, and being American would have bolted him to super-stardom in the US...if he were American

He's not better than Lewis but Wlad is a top 15 HW and I don't think he's done either. The Peter performance ranks as his best IMO. Not best opponent but performance. As much as he gets slagged for clinching etc., he deserves major credit for taking that fight when many thought he was a fraud, when it appeared as though he had lost his confidence and when Peter was still young brash and heavy handed. Wlad deserves even more credit for how he won that fight.

You should kno better. Peter was never that good. At his best, when he was really motivated he beat Toney in a fairly tight rematch. These guys are also now claiming that Sander's was a devistating puncher....All to try to say that Vlad is on the level of a guy like Lewis, and furthermore better than a great fighter like Ali.

Peter at his best would not be trifle for an ATG heavyweight. Peter never beat anyone of any substance and was relatively slow....Vlad went tooth and nail with him...lets just compare the Golata that Lewis fought and took out with a few punches to that version of Peter where Vlad was floored, and had to really fight to win....Ridiculous to assert that this makes Vlad a great fighter.

And I want everyone to notice how Sanders (who I think the world of RIP) becomes a "devistating" puncher when trying to make a case for Vlad. Usually Sanders is considered quite mediocre otherwise.
