Based on what? Scraping by Karass and Lopez? Giving Floyd a tough fight? Cotto did that too and he gets zero credit for it. Maidana knows that's his retirement fight. He gets finished inside 8.

Maidana hasn't shown me the chin to cause Cotto problems. Margarito had that all time great beard, Pac was just too fast. I think Maidana would give Cotto some problems, don't get me wrong. He has that right hand that seems to land no matter who he's fighting. I just think Cotto's got enough firepower to hurt Maidana, especially in the exchanges. Either way this fight will never happen.

Yeah.. Chino. Should chase PAC down at 140. Especial since he's hinting retirement. This $$ could make a nice pension. But one thing for sure somebody would physically and mentally retire after that fight.

i don't really consider maidana a great fighter,he's avg and If this fight were to happen i'd be surprised that cotto would fight a guy coming off two straight defeats, like whats the point in that,i mean he's done it before with Judah,he was on a three fight winless streak, but I think if maidana can get a solid win ok,but at the end of the day he's really not a great fighter

I think he's slightly above average but like you said it's no big deal to beat him. Beating fighters who have been outright dominated(alexander)is not something top fighters should be doing.

Cotto was right on par with Pac for the first 4 rds. He just took a lot of brutal shots in those early rounds that started to work his face badly ontop of lots of body shots Pacquiao snuck in. The knockdowns really shook Cotto up and the 4th rd knockdown shocked Cotto to the core. He went back to his corner all shaken up including a final straight left that Pac landed before the bell rang in the 4th.

He was not weight drained at all with a 1lb difference. It was the accumulation of a high pace that Pac set and the crazy amount of punches he took early on that broke him down. Pac fought possessed and he ate his own large numbers of shots but kept going.
he ran from pac after like the third round, went into survival mode,i remember paul Williams making a comment like you can't win a fight running like that, going post to post,

I laugh at the people who said that cotto wasn't weight drained in pacquiao's fight. Sure, keep thinking that. We see why pac woudn't take the rematch with cotto WITHOUT the catchweight.

I don't know bro, big cotto fan, like you, but I think manny having around 15:1 t/e levels has more to do with it than weight. Cotto did great the first few rounds but eventually getting clobbered by a guy juiced out of his mind takes its toll.

I still can't get over people on here calling him a quitter. Fights one guy with cement, another on peds, ya real quitter. You want him to die? FOH. All of you would have quit in half a round.
