Your hilarious dude. He even stated himself he was scared he was never able to walk again much less compete at an "elite" level. That alone should tell you the extent of his injuries but your homerism blinds you from even that. Cottos success these past 2 fights have been from good matchmaking and a calculated risk that paid of bigtime. Yuris knees, Margs eyes, and now Sergios knees, lol that cant be a coincidence. I'll take Canelo, Cotto hasn't proven doodoo. And yes it is relevant, Sergio wouldnt of beat any ranked middleweight that night much less Cotto. Cotto being an underdog has nothing to do with the issue.

Unlike bigjavi, I give Sergio credit for those wins, the reality is however that all of Martinez's big wins were against markedly similar opponents. Slow, flat footed, plodding, come forward punchers, all of which were taller then him. You think Martinez was not 100% for the Cotto fight? That's your opinion and that's fine, but even if Martinez was 100% that night he was unprepared for the fight and his being 100% would have only prolonged the inevitable. Like Roy Jones said Martinez's first mistake was thinking Cotto could not hurt him. But Martinez's actual first mistake was during training.
The whole story going into the fight was Sergios knee. Sergio was favored by Vegas and by every major boxing reporter barring his knees would be healthy. And the fact is before Sergio, Cotto got outboxed by Trout and beat up Delvin Rodriguez in a Salka type fight. Once again, you can say Chavez Jr was big tall and a plodder all you want, thats in some way or another, disscrediting Sergios win. I can easily do the same by disscrediting Cottos past fights, Delvin (Superbum), Trout (outboxed and neutralized Cottos whole arsenal), Floyd (lost a UD like everyone), Margs (beat up a punching bag, bigger version of Rios), Mayorga and Foreman are subpar opponents at best.
Martinez first and only mistake was taking the fight, or actually taking any fight for that matter, you cant go 12 rounds with busted knees, simple as that. Cotto fans can say Sergio was 100% all they want, realistic neutral boxing fans see otherwise.
Styles makes fights correct? Cotto with pedro diaz was trying to be more of a boxer and what not instead of being an attacker, which is what made him a beast at 147 lbs and like he is now with freddie roach.
