If Cotto is Welterweight or JrMW than he should not claim to be lineal MW champion. As I said - he doesn't HAVE to fight GGG if he's too small but than just vacate the MW belt and go on.

Holy ****, do people like you not understand Cotto holds the WBC middleweight belt?

It's fine to fight a shop worn Martinez, take his belt (which Golovkin was pretty much in line for and deserved 10x more) then duck the number 1 middleweight who wants a unification fight to prove he's the true lineal champion?

Absolute ******s, if Cotto doesn't fight GGG he should vacate asap or it's nothing but a duck

I doubt that GGG will move up to 168 to fight Andre Ward. Everyone is entititled to their opinion or doubts. GGG's trainer's opinion doesn't carry any more weight than anyone else's.

My biggest question about this situation is why is the WBC allowing a champion from another sanctioning body to fight for the WBC "interim title" and then order the regular champion to fight him. The former president of the WBC would never allow a champion from another sanctioning body to be ranked in the WBC rankings, let alone fight for an interim title.his whole thing smells like a bad carp.

Could Not Agree More; Won't Matter When Canelo Beats Cotto

Canelo will fight GGG after he beats up Cotto. Then Cotto can go back and fight guys like Tim Bradley. Cotto remembers what it was like getting KO'd by Pacquiao at 145/147. He got a taste of what it was like to get beat up by a larger, primed Austin Trout. No way in hell he steps in with GGG to take a career ending beat down. He was very strategic picking a shot, injury prone, 40 year old Sergio. And if Cottto fans beg to differ, then make a push for your boy to challenge for the 160 unification fight at 160 with GGG. 160 is a middleweight title. Defend it at 160.

Clowns, screw the organizations. It's about fighting the best at their best to see who's the best! I know that's old school, and pretty scary for today's fighters and promoters. But Floyd needs to grow a pair of ballz and fight Manny, and Cotto needs to defend is 160 title against Gennady at 160. Why does Bernard Hopkins at 49 years old have bigger ballz that Cotto and Floyd supposedly in their prime. Something wrong with that picture.

People equating this to GGG/Ward are senile. Cotto has the "lineal" MW belt. If he can't defend it then he needs to vacate. Ward doesn't have any MW title nor would he fight GGG at 160. Where is the similarity? Right, there isn't any.
