I think he will. Ward just needs to get back in ring

GGG is very hittable and both Froch & Chavez Jr can take BIG shots, so either of those fights would be a war! Ward's in class of his own. He's not the most interesting to watch from an explosive point of view, but he's a master of defensive fighting and I reckon he'd school GGG.Comment

Probably right around the time they criticize Ward for clearing out 168 years ago but remaining there instead of moving up for Dawson,Hopkins,Stevenson and Kovalev.Challenger vs Champion scenario, GGG would need to move up to 168 and conceed more in negotiations. But most importantly Initiate the negotiations. HBO might push this too. GGG is blasting 160's out easily, when will criticism start for him not wanting to challenge himself in bigger divisions.Comment

There is one very big difference between Floyd's fights with Cotto and Canelo and GGG moving up for Ward - the money.
Floyd was paid over $45 million to fight Cotto and $41 million for Canelo, much more than his opponents in each case. He was also able to dictate the terms for those fights, including making it a catchweight vs Canelo.
If GGG fought Ward now, Ward would dictate the terms and take the lion's share of the purse. GGG would end up earning less money than if he stayed at 160.Comment

Certainly would be an interesting fight, no denying it.
Exactly. There's no way this wouldn't be an interesting bout.Very good point. Ward's sort of being remembered with a god-like untouchable status due to the fact we're never seeing him in the ring when he's still just a guy with gloves on. If Froch can land, and Boone can drop him (albeit very early into his career) then a proficient and powerful boxer in GGG can do a bit of hurtin'.Comment

I guess if the Cloud fight was any indicator, Beterbiev too would give Ward trouble. But he does have the 'green-ness' that a master boxer like Ward could expose. Wouldn't mind seeing more Beterbiev fights though.Yes, Edwin Rodriguez isn't qualified to assess such things...... I still maintain that the only one (Russian) who could "handle" Andre Ward, to date, is Beterbiev...
... The guy doesn't need much space in order to hit hard... I say this because Ward doesn't give much space to anyone...
