Not sure why people keep bringing Ward up......last time I checked he was 0-2 in court and didn't seem to mind the prospect of sitting out until 2016!!!

If a guy doesn't feel like he would be on a leveled playing field going up why the fk must he move up!??? There are divisions for a reason nothing wrong with being the king of your own division, and being happy with that not all boxers can be Pacquiao. I will tell you why everyone is always expecting people to move up nowadays when they dominate. This ****** mentality stems from the fact that people have gotten used to the common practice of most fighters nowadays not fighting at their natural weight, actually quite far from it in some cases, and have to kill themselves to drain themselves to a weight they can have an advantage on, and end up looking like zombie Rios.

However there are still some admittedly few out there that fight at their natural weight where they actually feel comfortable, so why blow up and handicap yourself especially when you are already king of the turf you belong to, some people can some people can't doesn't mean anything bad about the boxer's ability if anything it's all about their body and it's potential.

A real man has to know his limitations just look what happened to Gamboa, he found out his the hard way.

This is all fine and good, but why does it only apply to Ward? GGG is clearly a natural MW. Why is he a ducker for not wanting to move up to fight Ward? It's the double standard I have a problem with.

          2 possible theories.
          1) Beacause Ward only answers to god.
          2) He has no fans (aside from Jesus)

Because we are calling for him to fight period. I don't care if its at 135 or heavyweight. Just fight some damn body. Go kickbox or go toe to toe with The Big Show. Do something, damn.

I never thought that myself, but I have heard GGG people say a move up is in the cards for the future. Now if he moved up and then didn't fight the guy within a couple of fights, then and only then I would pull out the duck card.

Besides quite a few names in his own division he finally needs to get to before that, so he can earn some true merit points not just monster k.o artist hype points.

There's still a few fights ward could take at 168 but I agree he should probably move up to 175 but apart from kovalev and Stevenson there's not many more big names I can think of off the top of my head and he won't fight Bernard so idk. I also like ggg but didn't Lara call him out

Oh, ok. Not you then, but a lot of others.

Btw GGG already has some merit points. Geale is as good a win as any other active MW has over another MW. So is Macklin arguably. (Actually Taylor's wins over Hopkins are better but those happened in another life and time.)

It's not GGG's fault that Martinez openly and shamelessly ducked him for years and that Cotto is doing the same now.

lots of great fighters never left their division. personally i wish he would move up but its his career and his choice. fighters have a responsibility as champions to fight the best but which division they do that in is entirely up to them.

for the record ward has said he wanted to move up a while back but his trainer convinced him not to, he says he will move up eventually but is going to wait for his body to grow into the division naturally.

At 168, there is Golovkin, Andre Dirrell, Anthony Dirrell, Froch rematch, Kessler rematch, and even Chavez Jr.

At 175, there is Stevenson (Al Haymon-controlled, fighting on SHO), Hopkins (50 years old, mentor to Ward), and Kovalev (about to get schooled by Hopkins).

                      Choice is easy.
