Fighters are chasing the money. Ward sees dollar signs in a Golovkin fight. Same way Golovkin sees money in facing smaller guys like Cotto.
Same way Froch sees money fighting nobodies in his back yard

All fighters are chasing the money. Thats what I just said. I have no issue with it.

I find it funny when one fanbase critises a fighter for chasing money when their own favourite does the exact same thing. Get it?

That's pretty much it. High reward low risk.

He's saying it doesn't matter that Cotto isn't a natural middleweight, he holds something that belongs to fighters like GGG, a championship belt and the lineal title in the MW division.

But you knew that, you're just acting dumb.

Where is he a champion at? 135? 147? Or 160?

I'm more worried about when Ward plans to return, if he ever does. That said, Golovkin is untested and from the looks of it, Ward may be the only fighter who can challenge him at this point in time.

I'm a huge fan of both by the way.

yeah he should move up he has nothing to prove at 168, but thing is fans don't really care about seeing ward tested to his limits,he's just not an exciting guy to follow. They'd rather see GGG tested to the max.

If I could pick one fight to see (and I think most would agree with me here) between Ward v Stevenson/Kovalev and Ward v GGG. I'd pay for ward v GGG.

But having said all that. I don't think GGG should move up yet. He should unify middleweight first and then move up or in the future you'll have people claiming he's not a true two weight champ ... he was only a titlist at middleweight cotto was the real champ etc etc.

So imo GGG unify the middleweights first then move up and take on supermiddle. As for ward well he's already achieved everything he can at supermiddle ... if he wants to move up for some big money fights v kovalev/stevenson cool ... if not ... well I don't really care.

Cotto holds a belt (and that ridiculous, obsolete but somehow highly regarded "lineal" championship) in the division GGG competes in, so him being "smaller" is beside the point. If you call yourself "history's MW champ" you have to face the best MWs.

As for the topic, what contrarians like you are forgetting is that Ward is getting criticism for not moving up because he criticized GGG first. It's all in response.

Btw Ward is the biggest hypocrite here: he isn't even available to fight, yet he's trying to make it seem like GGG is ducking him. And the jealous idiots in whose eyes being popular is a sin eat his bs right up.
