If Cotto/Alvarez happens at all, it will be in June, not May. Cotto may choose to fight someone else in March at 154 and then fight again (maybe against Alvarez) in June for no title. If Cotto/Alvarez do fight, the winner will fight Mayweather in rematch in September 2015.
GGG is a nobody financially and is not on anybody's agenda because he brings nothing to the table financially. Attracting 9,000 people to a fight with the help of an established superstar in Nonito Donaire fighting a tough opponent proves nothing.
"Todos sabemos que el tema está ahí y eso es en mayo y apenas estamos en octubre. Falta mucho. Pero creo que comenzaremos a hablar en las próximas semanas".
"Si la pelea va a ocurrir, tenemos que tener todo listo y arreglado para antes de que comience el año y anticipo que no habrá controversia con ninguna de ellas", dijo en referencia a las exigencias que Cotto llevará a la mesa una vez inicien las negociaciones.

If the person holding the lineal middleweight championship isnt comfortable fighting an actual middleweight, then perhaps they should vacate the middleweight title and move back to jr middle where they will be safe
Personally, I am able to assess GGG objectively, and I can tell you that Cotto has been hurt and dropped at weights as low as 140 in his career. I can only imagine what GGG would do to an older, war torn Cotto fighting two weight classes above his prime.
I personally would like to see GGG build his legacy fighting evenly matched, competitive fights vs. fighters like Andre Ward, Carl Froch, and Mikkel Kessler. But once again, I am able to look at GGG objectively, you seem to be unable (or unwilling) to remove your fan hat.

Cotto became the WBC middleweight champion this past June by stopping Argentinian, Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez, in the tenth round at Madison Square Garden in New York.

According to everyone with a functional pair of eyes, he just got his ass kicked by Lara. But now that they're in GGG's sights, they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. If they were bull**** opponents for the welterweight champ several years ago. They're even bigger bull**** opponents for the best middleweight in the world now.
So keep whining like always
