If Cotto/Alvarez happens at all, it will be in June, not May. Cotto may choose to fight someone else in March at 154 and then fight again (maybe against Alvarez) in June for no title. If Cotto/Alvarez do fight, the winner will fight Mayweather in rematch in September 2015.

GGG is a nobody financially and is not on anybody's agenda because he brings nothing to the table financially. Attracting 9,000 people to a fight with the help of an established superstar in Nonito Donaire fighting a tough opponent proves nothing.

GGG should fight men his own size. Canelo and Cotto are JMWs. Cotto came in at 155 lbs. vs. Martinez and Canelo's last 2 fights have been at 155 lbs. Both fighters can easily make 154 lbs. They would be idiotic to fight a puncher of GGG's caliber at 160 lbs.

GGG should fight whomever is holding the lineal middleweight championship, regardless of their size.

If the person holding the lineal middleweight championship isnt comfortable fighting an actual middleweight, then perhaps they should vacate the middleweight title and move back to jr middle where they will be safe

Cotto should just give back the belt. Not a real 160 fighter if he cant fight against 160.

He might fight Soliman, he currently fits the same criteria Sergio Martinez fit.

if cotto-canelo turns into a war then we get a rematch in september...
also dont count out chavez jr -canelo which is a bigger fight than GGG...

And if GGG moved up and beat Chavez Jr tomorrow. You and folks like you would have a million excuses why he shouldn't have to fight Ward, the lineal super middleweight champ.

GGG will get his shot when Cotto is through with Canelo.
