In a recent interview with BoxingScene.com, Golovkin made it no secret that he wants a major pay-per-view fight in 2015.

Abel Sanchez, the trainer of Golovkin, has two choices in mind. If Golovkin drops down to 154-pounds, he would like him to face WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. If Golovkin is moving up in weight to 168-pounds, he would like to see him fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Seems like someone's team is forgetting they have a contract with HBO, and the guy they're mentioning is contracted to Showtime.

    Minor oversight ............

Glad youre with me on paper champ, but I doubt pro boxers care about your or my feelings when looking for fights. You should stop taking yourself so seriously
It has nothing to do with what I want or feel.

So we establish Floyd is a Welterweight who only has belts at Jr MW because of politics, this same Welterweight who's not big for Welterweight, and you want a MW who's willing to fight at SMW to fight this Welterweight? Why?

And you're reasoning is because Floyd has the belts but every other post you're saying they're paper titles (which they are) so what difference does that even make?

Obviously its his opportunity to prove he's not a subpaper champ at sww despite his lofty credentials.

Now all we need is a list of GGG's jr middleweight credentials to validate your point.

No1 cred is all these flo mos washing their hands of Floyds numerous sww titles when Ggg comes calling him out at sww. Then this lineal, unified, 2x, reiging sww champ is just a welter lol

It makes perfect sense for them to fight. He might not be as popular as Khan, but that just means GGG will get paid like Maidana did. I'm sure GGG wouldn't mind earning $5million. The only problem would be HBO. I don't think GGG can fight on Showtime.
a real fan wouldn't dismiss a great match-up like this,but...have you read some of the comments?...suddenly it's a pac vs mayweather thread again. facepalm

Nobody in the sport cares about fantasy P4P rankings, nor do they fight over them. If Ward will do his part and get in the ring, the fight will eventually happen. He keeps talking about retirement instead. His best scalp is still a post prime Kessler...
