Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Trainer Eyes Mayweather or Chavez For GGG

Your posting in this thread is absolutely bizarre.
You are saying floyd is a paper champ at 154, you are toungue in cheek criticizing the fighters who fight for money while still suggesting GGG fight floyd for what you call a "paper title" in a division below rather than go up to fight ward-a real titlist. strange.
It seems you want to see floyd lose and don't want GGG to lose. I get that-but just say it. If floyd is a paper champ as you say and GGG is chasing him rather than the real titlist-that doesn't say much for GGG.
Its as if you support him chasing the money fight after years of complaining fighters doing that is what is ruining boxing.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 10-17-2014, 12:37 PM.Comment

I I'll let Dan rafael of ESPN, explain why a Mayweather vs. GGG fight would be a mega-fight:
October 17, 2014:
The StubHub Center has been sold out for about a month, but with ticket demand so intense for GGG's first West Coast fight K2 Promotions added hundreds of extra bleacher seats as well as putting standing room only tickets on sale to accommodate as many people as possible.
Boxing fans can't seem to get enough of GGG. He's a breath of fresh air in a sport where the air often stinks because of promoter feuds, fighters who cherry pick opponents, matches fans want to see that go unmade and pure greed.
Golovkin, however, has steadfastly said he will fight anyone at either middleweight or super middleweight but has had a hard time luring the best fighters into the ring with him. But even when he is not facing a top opponent, he still commands attention. Fans respond to the obvious sense of joy he brings to the ring every time he fights.
He also brings massive knockout power. Golovkin (30-0, 27 KOs) has the best knockout ratio of any active titleholder (90 percent) and has stopped 17 opponents in a row, including 11 straight in world title fights, the same number as all-time great Roberto Duran did during his lightweight prime and Prince Naseem Hamed during his carnage-filled championship reign at featherweight. Only junior featherweight great Wilfredo Gomez scored more consecutive knockouts (14) in world title bouts.

Why do you keep repeating it when you know that I agree.
"Floyds a paper champ"
"I know"
"Yeah but he's a paper champ"
"I know"
"Yeah ok but he's a paper champ"
Ok we establish that he is a paper champ.
I think everyone also establishes that he is a welterweight and not a big one.
So why is Golovkin targeting him?
"Because he's a paper champ"

Floyd won't be called a duck for not fighting GGG but it's gonna look a lil bad if GGG is willing to meet Floyd at jr mw and fight him there. Floyd's the champion at that weight class. It's not like ppl are saying go up to 160 and fight him. Ppl wanna bring up Ward but he's not willing to go down the way GGG is. At the end of the day, we just want a good fight. PAC is Floyd's size, actually smaller but he doesn't want to fight him. So next best is GGG at 154. Instead of this, we will end up with Mayweather-Khan. SmhComment

Murray has received multiple offers, only mw on your list. Froch said no interest, too risky. Hop, Kov, Adonis 2 divisions up. Ward inactive, doesnt wanna make an offer despite thinking hes the A sideComment
