    October 17, 2014:

The StubHub Center has been sold out for about a month, but with ticket demand so intense for GGG's first West Coast fight K2 Promotions added hundreds of extra bleacher seats as well as putting standing room only tickets on sale to accommodate as many people as possible.

Boxing fans can't seem to get enough of GGG. He's a breath of fresh air in a sport where the air often stinks because of promoter feuds, fighters who cherry pick opponents, matches fans want to see that go unmade and pure greed.

Golovkin, however, has steadfastly said he will fight anyone at either middleweight or super middleweight but has had a hard time luring the best fighters into the ring with him. But even when he is not facing a top opponent, he still commands attention. Fans respond to the obvious sense of joy he brings to the ring every time he fights.

He also brings massive knockout power. Golovkin (30-0, 27 KOs) has the best knockout ratio of any active titleholder (90 percent) and has stopped 17 opponents in a row, including 11 straight in world title fights, the same number as all-time great Roberto Duran did during his lightweight prime and Prince Naseem Hamed during his carnage-filled championship reign at featherweight. Only junior featherweight great Wilfredo Gomez scored more consecutive knockouts (14) in world title bouts.

Coward G team have their eyes on everyone but Andre Ward!!!!!!!!!! They want to fight a small guy who barely makes 154 or a guy that doesn't take the sport serious. Fight Ward or continue to run like Pacroid has been doing from Floyd.......

Lol at this alternate reality flo mo. You shouldnt use Ward as your first line of defense, remember he called out Floyd at 160. At least Ggg is willing to drop to sww, where Floyd is supposed to be The Man

Golovkin doesn't "make financial sense" for Cotto let alone for the king of the sport Floyd.

          It is what it is.

Don't know why this fight is even discussed at all. Floyd was nearly too scared to fight Maidana for christ sakes. He doesn't belong in the ring with GGG.

A guy who is not PPV worthy (GGG) wants a fight with an opponent who is PPV worthy (Mayweather, Chavez Jr. or the winner of Cotto-Alvarez) so that he (GGG) can earn a huge paycheck and hope to become PPV worthy. Makes perfect sense.

When was Floyd scared to fight Maidana, in the first fight or the second fight?

You are right. But in Golovkin's mind, one of these guys should fight him anyway just for the hell of it. It is the exact same logic fans have been using when calling for a Golovkin/Ward fight. However, Golovkin doesn't see the logic in that argument.

I don't understand why it wouldn't be. GGG's trainer says he has no problems getting to 154, Floyd is champ at 154, Floyd has already beaten Cotto and Canelo, and hasn't defended his 154 title since Canelo. It makes perfect sense for them to fight. He might not be as popular as Khan, but that just means GGG will get paid like Maidana did. I'm sure GGG wouldn't mind earning $5million. The only problem would be HBO. I don't think GGG can fight on Showtime.
