Why would you risk losing PPV buys? And Vegas site fees? Maybe Canelo with his youth and Oscar with his bitterness may go for that. But I doubt Cotto and his advisors will.

Canelo, cotto have nothing to lose. Especially cotto. The only way I can see cotto not fighting canelo is if mayweather offers him a good amount. But then mayweather will again, contradict himself with his statements on this article. What is he, and you, so worried about?

Floyd has 4 of the 5 biggest gates in Vegas history- 2 of those were the Maidana fights. MGM will surely give arena to Floyd.

Lets stop making Canelo and Cotto bigger than they are.I know a lot of you hate this-but Canelo and Cotto are not big names to mainstream, middle class US casual fans that purchase ppv's. Floyd is, despite his "brand" and name taking a huge hit with all the BS and DV stuff.

Interesting to see where all this goes. But Floyd is a proven commodity-the other guys, not so much. Floyd is still seen as the best in the business-and he beat these 2.

Floyd Mayweather works hand in hand with the MGM. He makes Las vegas 100+ million during the weekend of his fights, when the high rollers come out to spend their money. People dont understand business, MGM wont care that Cotto-Canelo would do a million PPV buys, they dont eat off that, Mayweather still brings in better business. Canelo's only justification as a PPV star is that his fight cards are cheap to make, so even if he does 200k buys, they dont lose money so its considered successful. Mayweather is daring them to fight on that weekend because he knows the Las Vegas commission is going to give him the date.
