If Chad has the willingness to get back in the race he needs to go back where he's from!
He needs to get in shape in New Haven at his home gym Ring One. He needs to ask then pay Brian Clarke the fellow who developed him to "help him"!
Once he gets his wind and legs back and have Brian put his combinations together and box like he's capable of doing.
Once that's accomplished then he should find a situation for sparring and bring his boxing abilities to the sessions.
This kid was the best boxer in his division and he could punch enough to gain respect. He faltered when he decided to press his opponents and slug with them. That's not his strength, he's not a stepper he's a mover and he needs to work off lateral and in & out movement!
You can't change who you are and this young man is a boxer first not a pressure fighter.

He needs to get back to his beginnings, get things he's done wrong corrected
and take the proper steps forward to regain his status.

I don't know where the young mans heart is at, he must be honest with himself.

Im not saying he will...I seriously doubt he will...Im saying IT'S POSSIBLE...it would take big changes, maybe hes not ready to make them, maybe he doesnt see them, I dont know...once in a while a guy has an epiphany and turns it around...unlikely with this guy, I know this. But possible? Sure

Still a Dawson fan . Wish he didn't drain himself to fight Ward at 168. He should of been patient.

I don't think he has the mentality to bounce back.
I bet he looks incredible in the gym but under those lights when faced against a guy who isn't kicking on 45+ that likes to fight at a snails pace he folds mentally.

How many trainers has the guy been through? It has to literally be 10-12+

Bit like Zab Judah really, a lot of talent but not strong mentally.

              Overrated fighter with little skills.

He should hang them up now before he gets hurt.

Probably he could bounce back to some extent but the odds are slim, unless he actually puts an effort into it. Even when Chad was at his peak and the darling of HBO he put on lazy performances, and showed very little drive. He was never as good as advertised, also his chin is weak. So good luck to him.

I think the drain down to 168, and the followup beating from Ward, pretty much stole what youth he still had in him. Mentally and Physically he is pretty much done. He is a shell of his former self.

That could very well also be the case, wouldnt be surprised if it is. It SEEMS as though it is. But, again, the guy is still relatively young and definitely had talent and tools...a turn around -as unlikely as it is- wouldnt be unprecedented...
