Comments Thread For: Kessler Urges For Froch Trilogy, Andre Ward Rematch

Former champion Mikkel Kessler (46-3, 35KOs), 35-years-old, is ready to return to the ring - but he wants a big fight upon returning.

Kessler has two targets in mind - IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch and WBA 'super' champion Andre Ward.

Kessler defeated Froch in a very exciting fight in April of 2010 in Denmark. Froch got revenge in 2013, winning a twelve round decision in their London rematch.

Kessler deserves a rematch, and he isn't getting any younger, amd neither is Froch !

Kessler,Dirrell and Golovkin are the only fights I wanna see Froch in.this proposed DeGale fight has zero appeal.

At least Degale is still a professional boxer, rather than a semi retired has-been.

What does this actually mean ?

DeGale will not amount to or achieve half of what Mikkel has.

Mikkel deserved the rubber match the moment he signed for the rematch.his performance against Froch in both fights is nothing short of world class, world class power, world class durability and a world wide fan base, wtf does DeGale bring to a Froch fight bar a loss to a guy Froch stopped twice, and before you mention triangle theories I couldn't care less,it is a cold hard truth Mikkel is a far better more prestigious fight than DeGale.

Kessler will bring the the Danish PPV and will do another 1m views on HBO again too.

These guys know they don't want to fight Ward. Why keep mentioning his name?

Kessler wants to fight Ward but Ward either won't or can't do it.

Kessler was clearly beaten in the second fight and I thought he lost the first too. Regardless, he hasn't done anything since the second fight so why would anyone possibly be interested in a third at this point?

Both fights weren't even that good - especially the second fight where Froch jabbbed out boxed Kessler's head off for most of the first portion of it.

Kessler should have fought DeGale as a kind of eliminator - DeGale would beat him btw.

I was at the O2 and I beg to differ, it was a bloody brilliant fight.

He's also barely been active the last few years.

So no, I'd rather an active fighter gets a chance than a former star that used to be good.
