Believe it or not, getting punched in the face hurts quite a lot and being in a situation when the momentum is going against you is quite difficult. His will to win is obviously there as there have been instances where he's fought through pain and had to claw his way back into the match.

I'd honestly want to see how half the posters on this site would respond to getting cracked in the face, then sitting on their stool to find out they have 9 rounds ahead of them.

Maidana tried to test that heart but floyd pulled the " youre gonna wear pillows on fight night" move... then on the rematch, the 3rd man became more like a floyd bodyguard than anything..(yeah, im sure bayless getting the job had nothing to do with the first fight)...i respect bayless but he was all wrong for that fight...imo

Why do people keep faulting Bayless for his performance in the fight? Maidana only has himself to blame. Putting things in a way that's easy for people to understand, if you had a wayward child you would be a lot quicker to enforce the rules you've set than if you had a relatively obedient child.

Maidana's performance in the first fight was disgraceful; there's bending the rules and then there's showing no regard for the rules what so ever. When you start throwing knees, headbutting your opponent and spearing them; you call for a more watchful eye. Bayless had a responsibility to ensure the fight didn't get as dirty as the last; he was not dealing with a fighter who had respect for the rules so he had to be more involved.

you know someone is just a knob nibbler when they mention that "knee", a joke by maidana, and the spear, the guy is trying to fight and cut off the ring and the other guy pulls his head down while retreating, what do you think happens

but what's funny is the position floyd always puts himself in after getting "speared" or falling through the ropes, hatton and maidana, im sure there's another also(judah?), he always gives his ass to the opponents, why?

i hate floyd, but i respect his boxing skills, with that being said.

his fight against mosley showed heart and determination, and of course the ability to adjust and adapt.

Broke his hand against Carlos Hernandez and fought of the fight with one hand

Went life and death with Castillo, the best Lighweight of his era and edged out a victory then rematched him straight away

Rocked badly but Corley and Mosley and instantly forced the fight moving forward.

Took bombs against Cotto, Maidana, Oscar and didn't fold.

                Yeah I'd say no heart.

Floyd does some questionable things both inside, and outside the ring. I'm pretty sure we can all agree on that.

With that being said, the man has heart. The times I've seen him caught with good shots, he has responded by answering back, re-seizing the moment. To reiterate previous comments, he's fought through broken hands, walked bigger opponents down (given up to 15lbs ), and displayed toughness many times. I have to question what some of you define as "having heart". I think the Maidana fights have skewed a few perceptions.

I can't see him quitting, nor being broken in the ring either.

Enough with he avoided EVERY tough fight. He was hurt by Chop Chop, Judah, Maidana, Mosley, and in each fight he ****** it up and was dominant. That's heart. He's finished fights with sever hand issues, he fought Castillo with an injured shoulder, that's heart. I know ya'll hate Floyd, but the questions get dumber by the minute.
