I agree, Cotto was dead tired. But not so sure he wouldn't have survived and won the fight anyways.

That's what I'm having trouble figuring out. In the ninth round, which Robert Garcia praised as Tony's best yet, he did nothing of real importance other than get off on a few pushed punches and march forwards unto further punishment. Had the eye been ok I still see Cotto outpointing Margarito.

Cotto had the answer wrapping Margarito up good and walking him back, cranking out power punches at a steady economical pace. Nearing the end both men appeared exhausted but Cotto's sharper wit and ability to smother Tony's offense gave him the edge. I agree he was tiring but he wasn't in survival mode like in the the first fight.

Cotto would have continued to box all night to a decision. Uppercuts, hooks, jabs he threw everything at Margs... it was becoming an exhibition. If anything, the second fight was a farce of the original.

yeah. Prime for Prime Margarito stopped Cotto. Past Prime vs Past Prime Cotto stopped Margarito. Which do you think was more imporatant?

I think it definitely made a difference, Marg was still catching Cotto in the later rounds but I think Cotto would have come out with the decision.

Funny how after the Mosley fight Tony was never the same..
Couldn't have something to do with not having plaster fists anymore.. Could it?

Cotto was boxing Margarito's ears off in BOTH fights.. The difference is the loaded gloves.

Only a complete ****** would not see this.. A complete fucking ******.

Based on an opinion on feelings? Ohhhh he hurt daddy Cotto....well if daddy Cotto would of fought smarter, he would of won in a much boring fight. One thing I always liked about Cotto is that he tries to make a lot of his fights exciting based on style. You nuthuggers till can't see it.

I personally think Margarito would have stopped cotto in the rematch had the fight went on.

my question is had Margarito fought cotto before Pacquaio would Margarito have defeated cotto?
dude wtf, Margarita didn't show anything in that fight that showed he would have a chance. He lost damn near every round. And don't give me that "Cotto was started to fade and would have gassed at the end" BS. Cotto won the last round of the fight too so throw that argument out the window.
