cool story bro..........ignorance is bliss don't forget thatI represent the group of fans that promotional companies care about. I buy every PPV, frequently purchase merch (from SHO / HBO / GB / TR), go to live events, subscribed to both networks... The fans who SUPPORT the sport economically. I represent the majority of fans who want to get entertained and watch action fights. Nobody wants to pay to get bored.
As long as we express our discontent with fighters like Rigo, they'll listen. That's why he got kicked from HBO and fighting on UniMas. We war fans have the power. Deal with it.Comment

Caribe should step aside and let rigo get promoted by someone who can get him fights and exposure . They look like Fidel Castro , who control rigo and wouldn't let him fight in Cuba .
Rigondeaux will be watched by people who knows the art of boxing : hit and not be hit . Speed. Ring iq , foot work , defense , power , etc . Rigo is one of the best exponent , a pure boxer . I pay to see him fight , I do care about boxing , about greatness .
Caribe , step aside . Let rigo free to find the best conctract out there . You are doing the same the communist did to him .
Hit and not be hit ; can not hit what you don't see .

He's got a point though, Rigo turns away viewers, he doesn't bring them on. You can't get people into the sport by saying watch Rigo. You bring fans in with action fights, quick paced...then some but not all will learn the nuances of the sport and become more hardcore fans. Rigo while being very skilled (one of the best), actually hurts boxing itself in terms of growing as a business.
His point is valid in a sense that people do not want to pay or watch him fight. It's invalid in that you shouldn't put a damn good fighter on the side line....but the bottom line is always money.Comment

The problem is that a fighter of Rigo's caliber should never hurt boxing itself as a growing business. The business model is flawed then. Appreciation of the art of boxing needs to start early or you just get the casual WWE type fans that need blood to be "entertained"... Boxing is ****** dry by a degenerate need for "growing" business... the "fight" for dollars I guess is more important than the art of fighting.Rigo while being very skilled (one of the best), actually hurts boxing itself in terms of growing as a business.

Arm tried his best to give Rigo exposure and was even paying him more than his market vale.
But a promoter can only do so much and now Rigo is in limbo with no fight coming and getting paid not even a quarter of what Arum was paying him.Comment

Rigondeaux is mulling any offers. As his manager stated, he has already received two of the biggest offers ever made to a 122-pounder, but his co-promoter wouldn't agree to the terms. Caribe Promoters is Rigondeaux's biggest problem and the reason his career will likely end with him fighting journeymen on ESPN for short money.Comment

It doesn't matter at what weight he chooses to fight. He still has to find a promoter willing to sign him and Caribe Promoters is stopping that from happening.Comment
