Any reason why Haymon won't sign Rigondeaux?

Caribe Promoters is Rigondeaux's biggest problem and the reason his career will likely end with him fighting journeymen on ESPN for short money.
Wasn't there a purse bid that Rigo's promoter won but his opponent backed out?

And the winning amount was so much less than what Rigo used to get from Evil Bob? So really, biggest offer?

Rather than just waiting and waiting. Then waiting some more, he should fight anybody. The $79K that Avalos would have received would be many fighters career high paydays. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money. Promote the fight well and put it in Miami to test their theory that Rigo can sell there. If he does sell well, no need for a co-promoter. Leaves many doors opens with many opponents.

You are right. I was quoting what his manager said in reference to the biggest offers. Rigondeaux was only scheduled to make $230,000 in the fight in whcih his opponent backed out. My point was that it appears that Caribe Promotions is hindering his career.

Rigo's style is hindering his career.

People walk out of his fight because he's a safety first boxer even if he's extremely talented. Only hardcore fans will enjoy his style and that doesn't translate to revenue generation which is what current boxing is all about.

Rigo while being very skilled (one of the best), actually hurts boxing itself in terms of growing as a business.

His point is valid in a sense that people do not want to pay or watch him fight. It's invalid in that you shouldn't put a damn good fighter on the side line....but the bottom line is always money.
Everyone keep calling him boring cause of the agbecko fight where he was literally scared to punch after the first round. He has 9/14 kos. He's not a ppv fighter hell doesn't even need to headline but he's being punished for his opponents being scared to engage

LSC can get in the ring with rigo before the year ends. Lets see if he is really not scared like he said.

A lot of fights are like that. Pro*** is he has no drive to push action.
