Amazing that Dawson dominated Bhop, but has lost every notable fight since.

    The Hopkins curse continues.

"They" cashed you out on Tommy Karpency how embarrassing

Expect a main page article stating Haymon signs Karpency.

Almost unbelievable - this shouldn't have been more than a stay-busy, Karpency is really not that good.

Chad's always been a little inconsistent, but unless he can make some real major changes he may as well hang 'em up.

Real shame tho. I was hoping a revitalised Chad could be a part of the revitalised LHW division but that's looking unlikely now.

The fight itself started out very good as both guys were landing crisp hard shots with the advantage going to Karpency. The SHO announcers seemed to give Chad the first round by virtue of his name even though Karpency outlanded him with the heavier blows. Karpency carried the first four rounds on my scorecard as he was timing Chad perfectly, landing hard shots and wobbling him on several occasions. Dawson picked it up in the middle rounds outjabbed and landed some good hooks on Karpency.

When the night was over, I had it scored a draw and thought that Dawson would get the nod because he was the hometown fighter. After having success in the early rounds Karpency's output really declined as he seemed content with sleep walking the rest of the fight. Dawson didn't really do much, but did enough to win most of the later rounds.

Both guys seemed to lack the killer instinct and aggressiveness to impress any boxing fans

The Ward fight looks to have ruined him. I thought it did at the time, and haven't seen anything since to suggest otherwise.

Shame, because a near to prime Chad Dawson would have been a good fit in a LHW division that's getting better.

Chad Dawson was never that good to begin with, he's overrated. There was no competition at LHW when he won the lineal crown and his win over an old fossil Bernard is nothing to laud about. Hopkins should of retired a long time ago.

dawson was a beast when he was at his best. wins over tarver, johnson, adamek, were solid.

dawson's accomplishments didn't measure up to his talent. he was a huge southpaw with good snap on his shots and speed. that's a tough nut to crack. there's a reason hopkins and calzaghe avoided him, and why he so easily beat poopkins when bernard wasn't allowed to quit.

dawson has a good resume. he was a very good / great talent. his career, to me anyway, will always be a bit of a shame.

I love to see Freddie Roach as his new trainer. Cotto showed some improvement with Roach in his last 2 fights.

I agree with this posts. I think Dawson needs some motivation and a much better trainer.
