I don't buy the broken rib story. Fight was scheduled for July 18, 2009 and the public showed limited interest in the fight. So, they bs'd about a rib injury and moved the fight to Mexican Independence Day in September, Floyd started giving interviews where he explicitly encouraged Mexicans to "buy the PPV and support your hero, Juan Manuel Marquez".

And from the day forward, Mayweather began to monopolize the May and September PPV dates. Gotta love and respect the marketing geniuses who run the Money show.

July 18 was destined to be a flop date. That's why nobody fights during that time of the year. I think it was a wise decision to fake the rib injury.

As great as Marquez is, Floyd is just all wrong for him. JMM turns into an above average fighter when his opponent can control the pace. Its somewhere in the bottom ten of Floyd's best wins.

I don't consider his layoff a good thing either. I still think he picked an awfully convinient time to take a 2 year break considering prime Cotto, Margarito, Williams, younger Mosley were all hanging around.

Marquez was a feather weight that wore the added weight around his waist. Not the same fighter he is now. Now he has bulked up. If I remember right Mayweather tricked Marquez by signing to meet a certain weight and then didn't make it. I do give Mayweather credit for making it so he will have every advantage in a fight.

Look at the pictures look at the weights , for crying out loud Manny weighed more than Floyd did when got KOed by Marquez , JMM was 2 pound bigger .
Dont just talk spin thats sounds good to your agenda put facts up to back up your comment , Floyd is not a big fighter he also came from 130 , there is nothing between them on the scales or in the ring on fight night , you guys are always trying to make Floyd out to be this monster , well he is not , he is little guy that has given big weight away to elite opponents many times going right back to Corrales and Castillo Floyd gave them over 10lbs on fight night , most of his career he is the smaller guy if you care to do your homework , do the same exercise with Manny and you find he is the bigger guy most of the time .

If I wanted to watch a fight with more excitement I'd watch Pac-Marquez 1-4.

Marquez challenged Floyd in his post Juan Diaz fight interview believing Floyd would be slower and ripe for the picking after the near 2 year layoff. Marquez forced himself up in weight and agreed to take on the challenge AND to collect payment if Floyd came in a few pounds heavier.

Get all your facts straight before posting nonsensical childish comments.
